heavy lacing, smelled like chai tea from Starbucks. Surprisingly light on the palate considering the overwhelming spice/cardamon/chai scent that bursts out of the glass. Still, a fun beer to drink. Best after dinner and limited to one or two. Definitely a holiday specialty.

Tap from a 1/6bbl, its a christmas ale, so I’m not very excited initially, coloring is very nice deep and warming taste is a spice lovers heaven with tons of holiday cheer packed in a glass, good malt backbone makes it a beer, and finish lingers with drying spices..

22oz bomber from Spirits Brick. Poured a cloudy orange tea brrown body with slightly more orange outer edges and an average sized foamy off off white head. Aroma and flavor are basically an overly cinnamon spiced gingerbread cookie. Palate is average but a chalky feel with stronger carbonation and a dry slightly warm finish make this one a fireside sipper. Overall I liked it a bunch.

I’m not a Christmas ale fan, however this beer is fabulous. I love the cinnamon flavor and the fact that it goes down very smooth for a darker beer.

Cinnamon, way too much cinnamon. Some medicine notes too, perhaps laqurice. Nice flavor, not so much cinnamon here. Soft sweetness. Creamy, syrupy texture and soft carbonation.

This one poured a murky dark red color with a beige head. Aroma was of lots of cinnamon, apple, toast, and toffee. Flavor was pretty much apple cinnamon and caramel. Different take on this type of beer but interesting

Rated on 01-09-2009 at Fort Wayne, IN Winter Gathering (Bottle). This beer when poured has a small tan head with good retention, reddish brown transparent body, fair amount of lacing, and no visible carbonation. The Aroma is spicy, nutmeg and cinnamon. The taste is malty, cinammon, nutmeg, and spicy. The cinnamon dominates the Aroma and Taste of this beer and it is a beer that I would drink again and worth trying.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, 2012 vintage. Pours lightly cloudy dark ruby red color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big raisin, apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, clove, caramel, gingerbread, toast, nutmeg, and herbal earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of malt and spice notes; with good strength. Taste of raisin, apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, toast, nutmeg, caramel, gingerbread, clove, and herbal earthiness. Lingering notes of raisin, apple, brown sugar, cinnamon, toast, molasses, gingerbread, nutmeg, clove, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity of malt and spice flavors; with a great malt/spice balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and lightly syrupy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent imperial winter warmer. All around great balance and complexity of malt and spice flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
