Pours a beautiful mahogany-brown color with a large and lasting light brown head followed by strings of bubbly lacing. Aromatic spices and sweet malts penetrate the air above the glass. Nutmeg, ginger and some rather aggressive cinnamon. Smells like a freshly baked gingerbread man cookie. A very thick malt body backs up the spices, heavy malt seems to be the Frog’s signature attribute. Warming with a soft creaminess, it drinks fairly easily and the spices quickly fade in the aftertaste. Full flavored and balanced which is key for this style. You can taste that real spices were used and are well proportioned. The hot cinnamon steps forward after the other spices have gone and really shines in the overall flavor profile. Very impressed by how much I enjoyed this beer in a style I rarely get excited about these days.

The aroma is complex and spiced with cola, fruit, spruce, and and caramel. The appearance is red brown with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s not a great tasting beer but it does capture Christmas.

Bomber from Whole Foods (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark cola brown with one finger tannish-white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of chocolate, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, brown sugar, honey, all spice, light floral esters. Flavor is sweet and spicy with notes of juniper, ginger, cinnamon, brown sugar, all spice, nutmeg, caramel, light toffee and floral spice. Medium body with a spicy finish.

Pours brown with a small white head, just like you would expect from an american brown ale. Then the aromas hit you with ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon all melding together like piping hot gingerbread from the oven. Flavors do not disappoint as gingerbread cookies come immediately to mind and linger enticingly on the palate. Very Christmasy and I wish someone would have left a plate of this by the tree Christmas night.

22oz bottle. Poured a reddish/brown color with an averaged sized off white head. Lots of spices. Big red bubble gum came immediately to mind. TOns of cinnamon and ginger.Tastes of the same spice overload. Some caramel and chocolate in the tastes too. If you like your beers full of spices, you should like this one.

Pours a deeper ruby amber almost chestnut with a small bubbly off white head that went away to nothing quickly. This beer only opened too a light hiss and the carbonation seemed a bit light overall. Aroma of gingerbread cookies, light cinnamon, some toasted malt, nuts and nutmeg. Flavor was even more like gingerbread cookies. Pretty much the closest I have noticed a beer being to a gingerbread cookie. The cinnamon and nutmeg along with hints of the brown ale it once was is still there. If the carbonation was there this beer would be an excellent Christmas spiced ale. ABV well hidden beer fermented out nicely.
