22 oz bomber poured into a trappist glass. Pours reddish amber with quickly dissapating beige head. Lively carbonation and big bubbles. Aroma is Ripe fruit, bannana, and caramel yeast. Flavor is pronounced and powerful. Sweet fruit and caramel malt meld together with a nice rich yeast presence. Hint of alcohol in the finish. Palate is thick, rich, smooth, and unbelievable refreshing and crisp. Light and refreshing for the style- believe it or not this makes for a great summer sipper.

22oz bottle 1/28/10 (Binny’s Naperville)-42° in Tulup-Pours a clear orangish amber with a small white ring for a head. Aroma of yeast, fruits, caramel, and hops. Taste of yeast, sweetness, fruits, bread, and sugars. This medium to full bodied brew is not too bad. A bit sweet but otherwise a nice brew. Hides the ABV pretty good.

Bottle:   Fiery orange, fairly clear, thin spritzy white head, falls quickly, sparce lacing.   Has that signature heavy bready nose, slight perfume, smells like your traditional American made Tripel or Belgian Golden.   Sweet malt like breadiness on the tongue.   Clean, but pretty one dimensional.   This one seems to fall in the same category as many American examples, decent but not all that entertaining.   Hard style to do I guess?   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Sweet malty finish, heavy breadiness, in the pale sense.   Lingering stickiness.   Decent, and the alcohol was very well hidden.   I would have never guessed this one to be 10.5%.   Not bad, but not really out of the ordinary.   Thanks Craig for the bottle!

2007 22oz bottle consumed in December 2009. Pours a bright melon orange with no head except for a small ring of white bubbles. The initial aroma is sweet and a touch spicy... but a little flat and I’m wondering if this is too old. I don’t know what this beer was like fresh, but I think it must be past its prime - the flavors are really muted and the body seems thin. For a 10.5% beer, I’m surprised it couldn’t handle a couple years. There is caramel and citrus mixed, with a touch of alcohol in the finish. This was probably meant to drink fresh. Bummer.

22 oz bomber. Thick, syrupy pour with a tiny white head. Aroma of hops, caramel and bread. Nice full bodied taste of bread, roasted malt and faint grassy hops.

bottle thanks to muckjoe, pours dark amber with a medium off white head. Aroma is light hay and a soft sweet syrupy smell. Nice sweet pale malt and candy sugar with a yeasty sour finish. Nice strong ale.

22oz bottle. Pours a lightly hazed deep copper color with a small off white head that left some spotty lacing. Candy sugar is the first thing that hits my nose, followed by some candied apricots and citrus. Flavor was very sweet with candied tree fruits and a bit of booze.

Bottle. Rusty orange with an initial fizzle that runs away quickly. The aroma is fairly level, with just a hint of orange blossom. The beer drinks with a nice viscous mouthfeel, with an easy-going mix of Belgiany flavors, orange rind and mellow spice. (#3691, 10/4/2009)
