COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American hops dominate this Rye IPA, creating an assertive citrus and passion fruit character. An old-world flavor from rye malt adds the perfect compliment to Goose Juice’s big, satisfying hop flavor and aroma. Originally home-brewed by our beloved brewer Goose, its wonderful combination of flavors inspired us to brew this specialty IPA.

Bomber. The pour is a copper color with a thin off-white head on top. The aroma shows a sharp grapefruit scent with some spicy rye bread and herbal notes. The first few sips uncovers a sturdy slick sweet malt to go with peach, grapefruit, and spicy rye. Either I’ve started to get more familiar with Rye IPAs or the rye is a little more noticeable here than most others I’ve had. The finish is fairly bitter and spicy with some lingering citrus rind and floral flavors. This is a tad too sticky sweet on the palate. Otherwise I have no major complaints. It’s easy enough to drink and pretty tasty stuff.

I was not sure what to make of this release when I read the description online. Even so I figured it was worth a bottle (or two) when it was obvious it would not be a brewery only release. Their other IPAs are better. Check this out while it is fresh for something a bit different.

Aroma / Appearance - The carbonated caramel base glows like a brilliant dying sunset. Eggshell head is dense for a while before relaxing to almost nothing. Rye bread, peanut butter, rose petals, and shiny new pennies sweeten the air.

Flavor / Palate - The warmth and bitterness make an immediate mark. Cherries and rye coat the palate with a dense texture. Maple, rose petals, and honey linger as the liquid transitions to a lazy bitterness. This might be a bit heavy handed at times but while fresh holds its own against other IPAs on the market.
