COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American hops dominate this Rye IPA, creating an assertive citrus and passion fruit character. An old-world flavor from rye malt adds the perfect compliment to Goose Juice’s big, satisfying hop flavor and aroma. Originally home-brewed by our beloved brewer Goose, its wonderful combination of flavors inspired us to brew this specialty IPA.

Bottle. Fluffy light tan head, deep hazy golden orange. Very dank, herbal, and tonic nose. Very dank, and reminds me of Devil Dancer in the grassiness and quite intense. Medium body with soft carbonation.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co., and dispensed to a snifter showing a hazed, orange/amber hue, with a finger width of persistent, off white head froth, and thick ribbons of clingy lacing. The nose started with some malty sweetness, then citrus, light fruit, herbal, and floral scent, followed up by some resiny notes. The flavor added a medium hop bitterness that was dry, resiny, and lingering. A moderate warmth identified the alcohol, but a touch of soapiness was detected as the brew warmed. Just medium bodied, with presentable carbonation. A decent IPA, but a little pricey for the pour, and not necessarily snifter worthy imo.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2013 Bomber. This is awesome - full palate, big rye and floral/citrus elements. Fantastic beer.

Bottle from Ølbaren, Copenhagen
Hazy dark amber color, with creamy and persistent head. The hop aroma is moderate but pleasant, a bit grassy, lightly resiny, and something more (must be the rye). The mouthfeel is smooth, the body is well structured and yet lean; good flavor of caramel with a light darker cereals quid, and a creamy touch; good bitterness level, never excessive; everything is well blended together.
Pleasant, well brewed, elegant.

Strong aroma has a woody - and decidedly rye - overtone, along with malty and subtle fruity notes. It comes out of the bottle a dark, somewhat hazy amber with a very thick and rather persistent pale wheat head. Scrumptious flavor has a malty core and a strong woody rye overtone, plus more than a hint of fruit, equally apple and orange with a touch of banana; and a hoppy undertone. Texture has firm, smooth body and plenty of sass and fizz. Let this goose juice you!

Dark orange pour from bomber. Loose mild head. Rye is outstanding. Crisp and smooth. Malty and very hoppy.

22 oz. bottle via trade with jsquire - Pours a hazy amber color with a half finger thick off white head. Light carbonation. Aroma is toasted malt, and herbal and resin hops with a touch of rye. Light spotty lacing. Flavor is pine and light citrus hops with some toasted malt and a hint of rye. Finish is still fairly bitter. Medium to full body. A good beer, still I would have liked to have tried this one fresh. Thanks Jeff.

Pours a hazy and copper beer with a white head. The aroma is malt and hops with passionfruit, citrus and melon. The flavor follows the nose. The palate is bitterness and some sweetness. Overall a good beer.

Draught at Örebro Beer&Whisky Festival 2012. Golden beer with an offwhite head. Floral herbal finish, grassy, perfume, citrus, grapefruit, lemon, hay, banana notes, woody, some mint and raisins. Hoppy floral flavor, herbal, earthy, ryebread, woody, dry, hay notes, lemongrass. Not the best from this brewery.

On tap: The aroma consists of citrus, caramel, fruit, light grapefruit, and rye. It’s a transparent amber with a one finger creamy off-white head with decent retention and lots of clumpy lacing. The flavor starts with caramel and fruit. The finish has citrus, rye, and grapefruit. It’s medium bodied with soft carbonation and mouthfeel. Overall, rye IPAs always seek okay to me but never great. This falls in that category...probably just personal preference.
