December 2012. 22 oz. bottle. Fantastic RIPA in any aspect. It doesn’t get much better than this. Big bold flavors, plenty of hops and fruit. Dark amber color with a white head. Bravo!

Bomber. Sure as hell won't confuse this Rye IPA with Alpine Nelson. Rye is fairly faint. Hop profile isn't terrible but fairly subdued.

Cloudy reddish orange, thin but dense white head. Clan, fruity aroma, with hints of pepper. Taste is very clean, dry and woody. Some peppery hops, some other spicy notes.

65cl bottle shared @Kaisla, Helsinki. Deep golden in color, smooth, thick white head. Aroma of ripe exotic fruits like kiwi and passionfruit, gooseberries definitely in there as well, coming better through in the flavor. Really interesting hoppy flavors with exotic fruits, gooseberries giving it some spicy notes and punch. Rye rounding it up, making it very smooth. Really lovely IPA, made my day.

Hazy gold pour under a tall, off-white head.
Aroma of juicy malt, citrus and pine hops and a touch of spice.
The flavor is well balanced between the malt sweetness and the hop bitterness.
Some distinct fruitiness going on here too.

Bottled. Pours hazy amber in color with a small head. Very fruity juicy ripe fruits, some passionfruit and kiwifruit. Feels incredibly smooth. Fruity taste, some tropical fruityness and light bitterness. One of the better ipas i tried today. Incredibly easy to drink. Refreshing too.

I had been excited to try this one. Poured a slightly hazy medium orange with a lasting thick head. Aroma of piney hops and gummy malts. Flavor is peppery, caramel malts, a bit of almost rubbery phenol that really detracts, and a piney hop finish. So close. But just missed. I’m probably just bummed that I’m missing the JRHB club meeting because the spouse got drafted to play volleyball tonight. But the phenol really detracted. A bit hot on the finish too.

Bottle. Pours a clear copper body with a one finger frothy off-white head that fell to a thin wispy film. The nose is OK, the hops are a little less intense than I was expecting. A little grapefruit and resin from the hops, some light earthy rye, and some caramel malt. The rye is there, but I fell like it’s a little less bright and the hops don’t play all that well with it. The mix is just a little too crazy and doesn’t seem to complement each other. I think it’s trying to be too many things at the same time. Medium bodied with a bit of stickiness and fizzy prickly carbonation. Yeah, I just don’t care for the flavor profile of this one. No real brewing flaws or anything like that, it just doesn’t work for me.
