American hops dominate this Rye IPA, creating an assertive citrus and passion fruit character. An old-world flavor from rye malt adds the perfect compliment to Goose Juice’s big, satisfying hop flavor and aroma. Originally home-brewed by our beloved brewer Goose, its wonderful combination of flavors inspired us to brew this specialty IPA.

Bottle. Moderate roasted and caramel, moderate to heavy grapefruit and orange juice for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with dried fruit, over ripe peach and solvent in the background. Head is large, frothy, off-white with excellent lacing and good legs, and is mostly lasting. Color is hazy, dark amber/orange. Flavor starts moderately acidic and a touch salty, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and moderately bitter. Palate is medium, oily, with a lively carbonation and a slightly tart finish. A mellow IPA overall, but well balanced and a few surprises in the aroma.

Sweetish. Nice orange persistant head. Strange perfumey body. Sweet tropical fruit aroma initiall good. Alas, it becomes more and more sorachi ace coconut sweetness,. in aroma and taste. Ewww, I don’t like that. But deep down it’s pretty OK.

Smooth balanced IPA. The rye gives a decent light spicy taste, the bitterness is in the finish. Above average mouthfeel.Very drinkable and recommended to seek out.

Poured from 22 oz. bottle. Hazy, dull copper color with a huge khaki head and excellent lacing. Aroma of pine, rye, caramel and mild light fruit. Taste of pine, caramel, rye and light fruit. Medium/full body and medium/low carbonization. Despite the name, this is not a particularly hoppy or bitter beer. To me, it resembles a rye-based barleywine except without the big alcohol. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013. Glowing honey orange in color with a small islandy and sidesticking white little top. On the nose it’s not to extreme but hoppy, some citrus, light sticky and malty. Think it a bit too cold. After a while it gets more fruity, red apples and in general more sweet. Loaded with piney hops this. The mouthfeel is thick and powerful while the carbonation is more gentle. Sticky flavors, more sweet red apples, jam, marmalade and a strong hoppy almost stingy aftertaste. Nice juice! 04.05.2013
