COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
American hops dominate this Rye IPA, creating an assertive citrus and passion fruit character. An old-world flavor from rye malt adds the perfect compliment to Goose Juice’s big, satisfying hop flavor and aroma. Originally home-brewed by our beloved brewer Goose, its wonderful combination of flavors inspired us to brew this specialty IPA.

Pours a pretty full bodied amber-orange. Spicy hop character in the nose, amplified by the rye no doubt. Firm bready malt backbone is bolstered by a piney, resinous hop quality. Definitely has an evergreen, sap essence that is interlaced with freshh dough, faint alcohol (nailpolish remover?), and rawhide leather. Taste is infinitely smoother than I anticipated. A really unassuming quaff. Lingering bitterness but pleasant. Rye is not as pronounced in its usual peppery manifestation, but does show thru in the dry, grainy back end. The take home points are that this is tasty if you enjoy the West Coast Style. Piney, bitter, masterful balance w/ malt backbone. Excels in its mouthfeel. Nice.

22 oz bottle. The poor is a dark orange, not clear at all, with a good bit of malty sediment swirling about. There is a big pillow we dirty white head, that fades down very slowly, leaving phenomenal lace behind. The aroma starts off with a good fruitiness, hiding the hops and malt very very well. There is a little spiciness on the back end, presumably from the rye. The aroma carries a great balance. The flavor is surprising. There is a little bit of a rye spiciness to it on the front and, then it moves through a hoppy bit and finally into a spicy lingering dryness on the back. There are sporadic bits of fruitiness, but not as much as the nose would suggest. The mouth feel is then, and there's not a lot of carbonation to help it out. The aftertaste is really good. It's dry, lingering, hoppy, lightly fruity and malty at the same time ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours deep amber into a tulip. White head with little retention recedes to hug rim leaving spot lacing. Caramel and resin aromas. Thick with dark pumpernickel and caramel upfront turning to bitter earth and resin in the lasting finish.

In short: a fruity bitter ale.
Pours clear dark golden with nice white head. Moderate head retention, some lacing. Medium body, average carbonation, slightly crispy texture. Taste is fruity, some grapefruit, peachy, citrusy, moderate bitterness. Dry finish. Enjoyable.

Aroma of malt, rye, caramel, sweet fruits and hops. Flavour is malty sweetness, caramel, strong rye presence. A malty rye IPA, the hops are secondary. Quite tasty and easily drinkable.

Tap @ Beer Temple (taster size). Orange/light amber color, rather clear. Off white creamy head. Aroma’s: resin, citrus, herbal hops, light maltiness. Rye (caramel) comes through retronasal with much less resin, herbs, light acidity. Flavor is moderate sweet (caramellsih, clearly rye), moderate bitter. Medium bodied. Finishes herbal/flowery and lasting bitter. Nice!

Bottle from Hop City. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a nice layer of off white head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus, and grain. Taste really has a nice rye balance with the bitterness of the hops.
