riversideAK (1648), Shoreline, Washington, USA May 13, 2008 Bottle from Beerman6686. Pours golden amber with a thin lasting head. Aroma is strongly caramel malts, pale malts, and grapefruit. Perhaps a touch of butter as well? This one is nicely balanced with a good amount of mildly sweet caramel malts, pale malts, and big citrus hops. Lots of grapefruit in the finish. Almost west coast styled except for the rather big malt backbone. Sweet but not cloying. I really enjoyed the hop profile. Lingering bitterness. Good beer.
Rune (1809), Tromsø, Norway Oct 3, 2008 Big bottle from Ølbutikken, Copenhagen. Creamy, light yellowish foam covering a clear, amber body (except for a hazy last pour). Fairly hopped aroma followed but a delicate taste of succulent oranges with a touch of caramel and underlying sweet berries. Weak, rather abrupt, bitter ending (hotel room in Valby, 15.09.2008). ChristianScheffel (2216), Odense, Denmark Sep 27, 2008 Amber with a lasting white head. Aroma has grassy hops and mango. Dryish and bitter flavour with so much grassy hop flavour it gets cloying - and boring alobar (648), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 27, 2008 Cloudy copper color with a foamy white head. Hops and citrus aroma with some grass. Tropical citrus and hops one the tongue. A bit sweeter than many IPA’s. Well done. RCL (1075), Waltham, Massachusetts, USA Sep 23, 2008 Light citrus hops. Does seem to lean more towards peaches and tropical fruits, maybe a little passion fruit. Nice clean hop finish. Good balance. Nice. Dedollewaitor (2165), Odense, Denmark Sep 23, 2008 Bottle. Pours hazy orange with a white head & lacings. Very hoppy nose. Tropical fruity hops. Mango & peach. Very dry & grassy. Power bitter hopped. Good creamy & medium filling mouthfeel. Nice IPA!
