Bomber from Sendiks in Brookfield. Pours a reddish brown with a disappearing offwhite head leaving spots of lacing. Aroma has sweet caramel, tangy fruits and some oxidized sugars, with some lemon Taste is of sweet caramel malts, brown sugar and some fruits. Medium bodied without much carbonation. Finishes sweet and slightly bitter without a lot of depth. Too lightly malted for a scotch ale, but quite a sweet take on a doppel.

Tap @ CBC 2013. Pours deep red with a small, creamy, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, lots of maltiness, caramel, light vinious, subdued grass, light red berries. Medium carbonation, fine creamy and grainy mouthfeel. Flavour is very close to standard dobbelbocks, caramel, sweetness, light sugary. Mild grassy bitterness. Light

Fra fat på Fermentoren mai-13: slik går det når man blir lurt utpå av gode venner. Sterke øl i store glass. Heldigvis deler vi med hverandre, ellers hadde det gått helt galt. Har ennå til gode å smake en amerikansk bock. Til nå den eneste fra Hoppin Frog som har "left me unmoved".

Tap @ CBC. Clear deep amber with small off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, bread and a little toasted. Flavour is malt, caramel, medium sweet, little toasted, little toffee, little bread, hop and a little bitter.

Sample at CBC 2013, Saturday. Clear amber with a small head. Caramel, malt, light spices, yeast, bread and some dried fruit. Sweet but not too sweet.

Sample @ CBC. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark amber. Aroma and taste are candy sugar, fruits, malt and hops.

Sampled at CBC 2013. Clear amber red color, small non lacing, mostly to fully diminishing off-white head. Smell and taste moderate to heavy malty, lightly bread, cookie, caramel, yeast and sweetness. Medium body, medium carbonation.

Tap @ Fermentoren. Clear copper color, short head. Aroma of lots of caramel malt, lots of raisin as well (special B?). Shows a bit more yeast character than most German Doppelbocks. Very malty in taste, not too sweet, not too bitter. Pretty good stuff, though clearly not a German product.

Draught at CBC 2013. Amber/copper beer with a small offwhite head. Malty, fruity aroma, bready, biscuits, raisins, floral, dades. Bready fruity flavor, caramel, candy, toffee, hay, dades, some prunes.
