Extremely rich and malty German-style lager, so intense that it’s named after our founder! Karminator Doppelbock has a traditional double-bock flavor, brewed with an over-abundance of the absolute highest quality imported Munich malt to create an irresistible toasted barley flavor, with hints of caramel & toffee. Alot of care, time, and know-how has gone into creating this complex, memorable, and majestic lager.

The caramel color starts the journey that this beer takes you on. The head is minimal and dissipates quickly. The aroma lets you know this is a malty beer. Then you take that first drink and you get the malt flavor up front followed by a slight yeasty flavor that reminds you this is a small batch brewery. The finish completes with a hint of cherries that you expect with a malty beer.

Tap @ Fermentoren. Clear copper color, short head. Aroma of lots of caramel malt, lots of raisin as well (special B?). Shows a bit more yeast character than most German Doppelbocks. Very malty in taste, not too sweet, not too bitter. Pretty good stuff, though clearly not a German product.

Poured from a 2013 bottle into a snifter cloudy amber red with a thin beige head. Aroma is sweet malts. Molasses. Flavor is like a brown sugar toasted caramel with a slight bready finish. Smooth medium body to the palate. A year of age just sweeten the package even more. A beautiful Dopple!!!

27-APR-2013, bottle @home, from Ølbutikken. Clear brown with quickly dying tan head, leaving a blank and shiny brown/amber. Aroma is alcohol, malt, spice, hops. Taste the same. Sticky sweet, malty, bready. Full body, medium carbonation. Fantastic bock.

Bottle courtesy of GandGKevin. Thanks Kevin! Copper pour with a short tan head. Aroma is rich chewy malt, strong caramel, toasted dark bread and fruit notes. Taste is chewy caramel, sweet malt, dark bread, dark fruits and sugary notes. This reminds me of an amped up Optimator or a caramel infused Eku 28. Those are two of my favorites! Body is medium but rather chewy with a dense, bubbly carbonation and lots of sugary stickiness. Finishes with more rich, chewy caramel, sweet, sticky malt, dark fruit, toasted dark bread and sugary notes. LOVE THIS!

Sampled at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2013 - Day 2, Session 2. Pours clear ruby with a mild, white cream head. Sweet toasty bread on the nose with notes of dried berries. Big sweet flavor with sugary, semi-dark malts, ripe berries, grapes and brown sugar. Full bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Warming finish with sticky sugars and more ripened berries. Great for the style.

Bottle, shared with Parksy, sent to me by b3shine-- thanks Beau! Everything I love in this style: thick, breadcrusty malts, sweet toffee, burnt sugars. Slightly salty finish. Beautiful!

From the bottle share at Dark Lord Day 2014. Into my tasting glass this went rich brown with a light tan had. Nose of roasted malts, some fruit, obvious nuts and floral hops. Medium to bold in body with a smooth creamy mouth feel. Flavor is rich and the roasted malts with the nuts make this very delicious. Light bitter finish. Solid beer.
