| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Botttle, as Hoppin’ Frog Mean Manalishi Double I.P.A., ABV 8.2%, at RBNAG 2009 in Vatlandsvåg. Deep orange to amber colour, hazy. Big off-white head with an orangey hue. Intense sickly sweetish aroma of stale and caramellized orange marmalade and loads of American hops, not very pleasant. Intense flavour of American hops, partly balanced by a substantial sweetness. The flavour is better than the aroma, but this is still not my favourite beer. andersand (310), Malmö, Sweden
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Solid I/DIPA. Dark copper colour with a small but longlasting off-white head that hangs on to the edges of my snifter. Aroma is tropical fruit, extremely inviting, fruity with only a small caramell malt presence. Flavour is similar with the addition of a rather harsh bitter finish (which I like.) This brew will kick your ass if youre not carefull. Innocent lovely smell, badass bitter end. mikalooch (165), , New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 10, 2009 Bomber. Pours a hazy brown-red color with a voluminous off white head with heavy lacing. Pine and heavy hops dominate the aroma, a touch of pineapple underneath. Big hops start this one off, rounds out with a nice toasted malt backbone and accented with some sweet tropical fruits, ends bitter and dry. A bit sticky on the palate, but is relatively easy to drink, alcohol is hidden nicely. Excellent. douglas88 (1583), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

Pours a cloudy bronze color with a medium white head. The aroma is sweet citrus, earthy malts. The flavor is very nice; not a hop-bomb or overly aggressive. A fruity tropical flavor, rich malts, not aggressive but well done. Herbal. ricke (207), Malme, Sweden
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 3, 2009 Amber color, slightly hazy, with a medium-sized off-white head that leaves a decent amount of lacings.
Lots of grapefruits and other aromas of tropical fruits. Pine-needles and caramel.
The grapefruits come of very strong in the taste as well. Quite a lot of other aromas of tropical fruits combined with a rather prominent caramel maltiness makes this one rather sweet in the mouth. Notes of pine-needles and grass. The finish is really bitter with plenty of hop resins.
Medium body, slightly sticky texture.
A good DIPA. The excessive amounts of hops and big bitterness are in constant risk of collapsing into a bittersweet mess, but in general I do believe the beer manages quite well.
