I nice westcoast IPA. Cloudy amber color with a nice 1 finger head, disipating very quickly. Aroma is nice on the nose with the fruits of pineapple and grapefruit followed by some biscuit. Flavor is very smooth upfront with a big hit of grapefruit. Then it finishes as an IPA should with the nice pine notes and hops. I do wish it did have a little more of this on the finish. Mouthfeel is a bit "sticky" if you will or syrupy. Overall, a solid double IPA as the alcohol is nicely hidden here.

If you have the cash to make this happen just do it man!! This is a wonderful double IPA. It is hoppy and not bitter, very smooth going down not too heavy. HF is in the same class as Sixpoint Resin and Stone’s IPA’s so it is top notch baby!

Pours a cloudy amber-orange color with not much head. Sweet, funky, malty aroma. Lots of caramel malt, toasted malt, grapefruit, spiciness, and peaches. Taste is not as sweet as I expected from the aroma. Still pretty syrupy though. Lots of toast, caramel and peaches. Full and syrupy mouthfeel. A really good Double IPA but a tad syrupy. Would like a little more hops here.

660 ml bottle purchased at the Westmere Beverage Center (Albany, New York) on September 18, 2012. Caramel foggy, little head with yeast flakes. Aroma of dried hops, notes of peach and citrus. Taste of pine and creamy citrus, very hoppy, good bitterness. This is quite nice!

650ml bottle. Cloudy orangey amber colour with small to average, frothy, lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Fruity hoppy, citrusy aroma, notes of grapefruit, orange, intense caramel malty basis. Taste is citrusy, fruity with notes of grapefruit, has biting bitter hop notes on an intensening caramel malty basis with a toasty biscuit touch scratching even on milk chocolate notes. Very fresh and almost light due to the citrus notes.

Bottle at the Local pub, Halandri. Aroma: Syrupy, exotic fruit, citusy and resinous nose. Grassy hops. Ecxellent. Mouthfeel: Big and sticky. Mild carbonation. Taste: Intensely bitter. Orange peel and grapefruit is the first thing I perceive. Tons of malt and hops. Warm alcohol presence. Finish: Very bitter and herbal over a layer of sweetness. Overall: A landmark example of double IPA.

Pours clear dark orange umber with a small light beige head. Smells of big hops, and some solid malts; very balanced. Taste is bitter and has some sweetness and hints of alcohol. Medium-bodied, smooth texture, soft mouth-carbonation, Hoppin’ Frog Mean Manalishi finishes with hints of bitterness coupled with sweetness.

Bottle at home. Pours a pretty unclear dark amber and has a frothy medium light beige head. A bit light and compact aroma of some hops, grains and rye. Lots of malt in the mouth with some fruits, plums, grapefruit, some berries and powerful hops in the end. Has a soft mouthfeel, and a heavy bitterness. There’s a great matching between malt and hops in this ale but is a bit twofolded and unbalanced. A great beer if you love hops.
