If you have the cash to make this happen just do it man!! This is a wonderful double IPA. It is hoppy and not bitter, very smooth going down not too heavy. HF is in the same class as Sixpoint Resin and Stone’s IPA’s so it is top notch baby!

A pretty good double IPA. Lots of pine and citrus in the hops and a dry, bitter coppery aftertaste. Sweet caramel malts. Quite strong.

POour from a 22oz bomber. Copper tan brew with creamy off white head. Aroma of malt, brown sugar, pine and citrus. Taste is sweet malt at the very start with a resinous bitterness emerging quickly. LIngering long bitter till the finish. Mostly resin but a little pine and less citrus. A little boozey at the very end. Good.

Bottle. Aroma has green grapes, passion fruit, peaches and some caramel maltiness. Flavor is quite full of hoppy fruits too with some leathery pine. The aftetaste is dominated by bitterness and has some alcohol coming through. Drinkable but I was expecting something more.

yeah, it’s OK. It ain’t great, certainly not worth the cost in Blighty. Best thing was the appearance and pour. I’m off for a homebrew!

From a 22oz purchased at the brewery. Poured into a small Hoppin Frog snifter. Pours a reddish orange with about an inch of off white head. Aromas of tropical fruit and mild pine with a touch of mint. Mouthfeel is moderate. Light but slightly greasy/slick Taste is mainly tropical fruit, pineapple, mango, mint (that’s gotta be a Hoppin’ Frog IPA thing), stank/skunk and very mild head. Overall, a very good beer. Not cheap but worth a try. I may even buy another. No bottle date but I doubt this was the freshest; still good though.

Backlog rating 3-08-2009 (Bottle) This beer pours a medium sized ivory frothy, semi-fizzy head with excellent retention, hazy body, lots of floaties, fizzy suspended carbonation, very nice lacing, and the hue of the body is orange with a golden tint. The aroma is citrus pine hops, bitter, caramel and malt. The taste is malty, caramel, very bitter, citrus pine hops, and grapefruit. The palate is dry and this is a medium bodied beer. All-in-all, this beer is very quaffable, recomment worth trying and a hopheads delight!

Very sweet nose, almost too sweet, still a lot if hoppy ness in it though. Taste is also very sweet, I get some citrus, tropical fruit, caramel, and a lot of other malty flavors. Really not a bad beer but I didn’t feel it was as hoppy as it was supposed to be.

Pours thick with a huge dark copper hew. Tasting very hoppy with slight citrus and malt backends. Well worth trying for those who enjoy double IPAs! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
