Wow! What a tribute to Judas Priest these guys offer; that’s right, I can go "Old School". Nose of pure pine at first, with perfumed spice; smells wicked good. The brew pours a sparkling copper. The lovely cascade resolves into a tall & stiff off-white head that is mostly lasting and leaves good lace. The balance is pretty surprising cosidering the bottle lists 168 IBU’s. I wish I had the patience to let this warm some, but the quaff level is just too high to resist. Very, very deep. The full chewy body is soft, the finish feels clean. I just made a new friend.

Flowery summer eve aroma, plus a slightly yeasty undertone. Nice pour. There seems to be a little rye in here (maybe that is just the hops?), and a good amount of sharp hoppy flavor balanced by a malty sweetness. There are orange oil and pith flavors too. Fairly bitter overall, and leaves a residual bitterness on the palate. A good IIPA.

15 cl. Draft sample @ Delirium Hoppy Loft // lighter half clear amber with a white head // smell is bitter pine & lots of bitter American grapefruit hops // slight yeast upfront, caramel, light touch of malt & hint of herbs, finish is reasonably harsh bitterness, getting close to a touch too much, raw grapefruit & pine hops // quite oily body, getting to soft carb. // Manalishi
