grandridge (105), Port Clinton, Ohio, USA Mar 6, 2008 Pours amber with chucks of yeast. Aroma is hops and citrus and floral notes. Powerful hop flavor which I like, but I wish it was more balanced. Hopslam and FFF were definitely packed with hops that were balanced with flavor. Don’t get me wrong, I could drink the hell out of this beer but a little more balance would be nice.
502Flavors (140), Kentucky, USA Jul 8, 2008 bomber into wine glass. Dark nut brown pour with a bit of an orange/red hue and a big off-white lasting and lacing head. Aroma is unbelievably juicy - dominated by sweet citrus hops. Flavor embodies a complexity of pine and citrus hops. The sweet malt compliments the hops to make the brew taste juicy (like aroma) that is really pleasing. There is very little to no alcohol presence, pretty potent general hop flavor, and a dry finish. It is medium to heavy bodied on the palate and decently coating. Overall: one of the best IIPA I have had. BuckeyeBoy (1044), Boise, Idaho, USA Jul 6, 2008 22oz Bottle Pours out a dark amber topped with a small of white head. AA nice aroma of rich malt and sweet caramel. O ya and some hops. Tast thick rich malts some sweetness and a nice bitter kick at the end. A nice double. Bigmmartin (100), Kettering, Ohio, USA Jul 6, 2008 Bottle. I tried this beer over a year ago and remember that I didn’t care for it that much. Just tried this again today thanks to 1_2many. My opinion of this beer has really changed. However, the aroma is my favorite aspect of the beer. It contains a wonderful floral, citrusy hop characteristic. The flavor is not overwhelmingly amazing but has a nice hop bitterness. I think the finish is somewhat lacking though. Woodsman52 (11), , Ohio, USA Jul 6, 2008 Nice light amber color. Has a strong hoppy taste. A glass from the bottom of the bottle has a milky appearance to go along with the creamy taste. juiceisloose (272), Orlando, Florida, USA Jul 2, 2008 Courtesy dragonstout. Pours a dark brownish orange color with a small off white head that settles to a thin film. The aroma shows citrus fruit, hops, sweet caramel and toasted malts. The flavor is big on citrus and grapefruit hops. The sweet, toasty caramel tris to come through, but is outmanned by the massive hop bitterness in this one. The hop bitterness is huge, but I was hoping for more balance with the sweet caramel. Medium bodied and pretty smooth with a long citrus, bitter finish. This would be better if there was more balance.
