RblWthACoz (959), Brooklyn, New York, USA Feb 12, 2008 Pours a clear very dark amber with brown and reddish tints. Minimal tannish head doesn’t really stay long, but leaves decent lacing on the way down. Nose is super floral hops. Strong and unrelenting. Flavor is very strong. Acidic almost at first. Firm woody edges. Very, very earthy. Feel is sticky on liquid and the carbonation is good. Surprisingly, this ends up being a pretty drinkable DIPA as I tore through the bottle and was finished well before I wished. A nice DIPA, though a bit heavy on the robust side.
patrick767 (1386), fort wayne, Indiana, USA Jul 25, 2008 bottle - Pours lightly hazy deep copper with a two finger, lingering head. It has a substantial citrus hops aroma. The flavor is of course led by big hops that has some citrus and pine notes. The caramel malts keep up though so the balance is good. It leads into a dry, hop heavy finish that lingers pleasantly. I didn’t find the complexities in this beer that my very favorites of the style have, but it’s still a very good brew. Nate (2195), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 25, 2008 From bottle, courtesy of dpjuart. Fantastic nose! Fresh hoppy notes, grassy with grapefruit and resin, pine and ozone. Intense, floral, and addictive. Coppery-amber clear body, with thin lacing off-white head. Medium-heavy watery body with light-medium carbonation. Starts lightly sweet with caramel and orange peel, followed by an ozone-resin tang and carbonic acidity. Next is a burst of fresh grassy hops and a bit of neutral fruit. Finally, it heads into the bitter range, with a nice juicy burst of resin followed by a light chalky and persistant coating on the tongue. Nice beer, with quite a kick after a while. robinvboyer (961), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jul 25, 2008 holy hell...........easily the darkest brtown DIPA i have ever seen, it’s almost the color of a brown ale. HUge beige head, wicked sticky lacing on the glass. BOMBS of grapefruity hops, and citrus. An absolute assault on my tastebuds. NOt much balance here, just a hop BOMB! Its so hoppy i’m getting licorice notes in the finish, unreal how hoppy this is. For a hop head who doesnt care about balance, this is your beer! alobar (583), Allentown, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 21, 2008 Huge beer. Pours a copper color with inert sediment. Aroma of hops, grapefruit. Taste was well-balanced and powerful- hops, citrus, and grass. Not overpowering. Well done. MaltOMeal (237), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Jul 20, 2008 bomber. Pours a dark amber with a thin, off-white head. with floaties. Nose was of strong grapefruit hops. Taste was grapefruit. Mouthfeel was medium and oh the harsh hops!
