3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 kujo9 (1085) - North Ridgeville, USA - OCT 26, 2007
22 oz bottle 8/11/07: Lasting medium sized light beige head on an orange/chestnut hazy body. Big hops in the aroma! Piney, grapefruity, and floral. Also slightly grassy, but also has balanced toasted and caramel malt, definitely hop dominant, but strong enough to give a malt presence. Bready malt appears as it warms, and is pretty clean of fruity esters. Balanced just to bitter, and pleasant, which keeps the malt back bone in check. Lightly sweet up front, but again, hop dominant with citrusy and herbal/grassy notes throughout. Bready and toasty malt balance the flavor. Caramel malt seems light, but there and keeps the sweetness up to restrain the bitterness. Lower fruity esters, and mostly from the citrusy hops, semi dry finish, herbal, citrusy, and grassy aftertaste. Very well hidden alcohol in both palate and flavor. Smooth, fuller body, and lower medium carbonation. Nicely make IIPA! Nicely balanced and dangerously drinkable. Goes well with BBQ ribs and chicken wings.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Slipstream (1555) - USA - MAY 29, 2012
Flowery summer eve aroma, plus a slightly yeasty undertone. Nice pour. There seems to be a little rye in here (maybe that is just the hops?), and a good amount of sharp hoppy flavor balanced by a malty sweetness. There are orange oil and pith flavors too. Fairly bitter overall, and leaves a residual bitterness on the palate. A good IIPA.
