4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ben4321 (2227) - Hoboken, USA - OCT 22, 2009
Location: 22 oz bottle from Whole Foods - Bowery, 10/22/09
Aroma: The aroma is pretty powerful, lots of grapefruit, some malts, some wet grass, and resin too
Appearance: Pours a cloudy amber-orange color with a thin, somewhat bubbly head
Flavor: Really tasty sweet and bitter beer, nice hoppy, resiny-citrus flavor, some sweet caramel as well
Palate: This beer has lots of body and a nice long finish, drinks nicely, almost no booze burn
Overall Impression:
I thought this was a pretty interesting beer, I’m not sure my description of the nose does it justice, but it was the best I could come up with. There was some in there that I wasn’t quite able to describe exactly. It was kind of like wet grass and resin, but something else too. Anyway, overall this beer is really quite tasty. A really well made brew that I enjoyed quite a bit. A wonderful example of the style.

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Slipstream (1555) - USA - MAY 29, 2012
Flowery summer eve aroma, plus a slightly yeasty undertone. Nice pour. There seems to be a little rye in here (maybe that is just the hops?), and a good amount of sharp hoppy flavor balanced by a malty sweetness. There are orange oil and pith flavors too. Fairly bitter overall, and leaves a residual bitterness on the palate. A good IIPA.
