3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Caramel, brown sugar, and some dark fruit in the aroma. Flavor is bready and sweet. A little spice from the rye in the finish, along with a fair amount of drying alcohol. Not exactly what I expected--it doesn’t have the nutty flavor or hoppy finish that you get in most reds--but still a fine effort.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Deep bronze-brown in color with fading off-white head. Nose is packed with fruity malt, cherry, plum/raisin, carmelized sugars, brown sugar, toffee, and faint roasted malt. Flavor is a sweet mix of dark cherries, plum, caramel, brown sugar/molasses, toffee, and again some fleeting roasted malt. No real hop presence. Big syrupy mouthfeel. Big and sweet with almost some American barleywine-type characteristics. While the sweetness runs away a bit on this one, I enjoyed this.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
A really beautiful close to red color in my cup. Caramel, cereal, innapreciate nearly 30 IBUS, fuuuuull body with soft carbonation and a long finish.
Surely it would fit perfect with a great piece of meat...but the lamb just went running

Bomber. This was, indeed kind of red in hue. This was really sweet and malty. Hops were scarce. It is one of those beers that have no negatives but not really enough positives, either. Lots of sweet malts and maybe a little diacetyl, too. Not really up to par.

Bottle from Bruisin Ales. Pours brown with a thin khaki head. Leaves a bit of lacing in the glass. Fairly malty on the nose. Kind of sweet on the tongue. Finishes clean. It’s drinkable but it’s not particularly exciting.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle @ home, courtesy of arminjewell. Thanks! Pours a hazy reddish orange appearance with a light brown head. Orange candied, somewhat spicy rye, caramel, a bit oxidized aroma. Somewhat low carbonation. Slight butterscotch, caramel, fruity candy flavor. Fairly sweet. Not my favorite Wee Heavy Scotch Red Ale ever.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pour out of 22 oz bottle, dark reddish brown pour with thin white/off white head, aroma brought notes of slight peat, hints of caramel, toffee, slight earth, spice, hints of diacetyl as well. Taste is a mix of butter, slight caramel, toffee, hints of red fruit, finishing fairly sweet, slightly bitter. Tastes old for sure, too bad.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours reddish with tan head. Smells of a malted shake with bourbon. Which is good btw...Taste is smooth with heavy malt, nuts and sweetness. A tad hot. Good beer.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
A dark coppery colour, a head is quite big, dense and beige. The nose is quite sweet, lots of berries, cranberries, strawberries, wood, some alcohol and toffeeish malts. Taste is quite sweet, berries, caramell, in the middle wet wood. The end is dryer and slightly bready, also hint of alcohol. Medium+ bodied, smooth carbonation, smooth to drink. Complex and partly tastefull beer, but still something is missing,

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
Musky, fruity caramel aroma. Sienna color. Very sweet alcohol laced brown sugar taste. Dry chalky texture, strong feeling beer. Not the great experience I remember a few years back.
