3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Small, diminishing beige head, that leaves just a thin cover above the near copper colored liquid, that have just a hint of haze. Sweet aromas, with an earthy, estery backdrop. Has some hints of being a red, but really just seems to be a bit unclean. Thicker, lightly oily feel. Caramel, fruit and alcohol flavors. I think the alcohol dominates the spice that might be found from the rye. A bit too much out of balance for me. 8/10

Pours hazy amber with little head. Very malty with almost no hop presence. I’m not a fan of overly hopped ale but this one needs more...very little character to this.

Hazy deep Amber with a thin ivory cap that recedes a little faster than I like, leaving behind a thin ring of foam around the edge of the glass. A little earthy Amber malt and a little peat. Smooth and not at all boozy flavor with some earthy Amber scotch malt, and a mild British bitterness. Smooth and amberish, very balanced and slightly Scottish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled from tap at ’Beertemple’. Clear, deep red with a frothy, tan head. Sweetish, slightly fruity aroma of caramel, strawberry jam and jelly. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, strawberry jam and jelly, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a little spicy finish with notes of juniper. Medium to full body, oily mouthfeel, flat. Nice, but not very deep.
