Pours a very dark brown, near black in color. A nice two inch head forms on the pour. Smell is highly roasted malts. Taste is a lot more of the roasted malts with just a hint of something sweet as well. Mouthfeel is full and creamy. Not sure "silky" is the word I would use to describe it, but still a damn good porter. HF is making some very good beers. If they could only up the complexity a bit they would be right there with the best. uhre (343), Denmark

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 28, 2008 Bottle: Pours a mahogany pour with light brown highlights. Thick and fluffy head. Higher than average carbonation really lends to a velvety mouthfeel in conjunction with the roasted malts. Roasted notes and brown sugars are prominent here. Nice creamy texture. Definitely a great go-to porter. Ungstrup (15483), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 28, 2008 Bottled - tasted blind. A brown beer with a red shine under a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with medium notes of roasted malt, and so is the flavor, leading to a dry roasted finish.
