Dark, robust and silky-smooth, with many flavors of roasted, toasted and caramel malts. Porter is an old-world beer style, so popular that it helped start the industrial revolution. Taste the history.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2012 Pours black in color with a small beige head that quickly faded. Aroma is more caramel malt than roasted malt, a bit odd for a porter. The roastiness is still there a bit along with cocoa and cream. Taste is also very caramely and sweet with a bit of cocoa and nutty character. Light roastiness. No bitterness. Thin, smooth, and creamy mouthfeel. Very odd aftertaste that I don’t like. Not a big fan of this but drinkable still.

Bottle poured a deep dark cola with a large tan head and intense lacing. Aroma is mainly roasted malt with notes of dark fruit and coffee. Taste similarly begins with roasted malt and slight smoke followed by hints of dark chocolate, tobacco, black currant, and vanilla. Enjoyable creamy mouthfeel with dark fruit and roasty flavors lingering.

(22oz bomber thanks to JD) clear ruby-brown, lasting creamy tan head. Nose is rich ad smooth, chocolaty, cocoa, a bit funky, lightly nutty and a touch of honey. Taste is a bit more watery but still fairly rich, cocoa, dry, chocolate water, lightly nutty, lasting chocolate/nuts. Thin body.

Jet black, the merest tint of brown; rapidly diminishing brown head; chocolate malt aroma; high carbonation; spice initially, then bitter chocolate, toasted malt then back to spice again; a little sweet and quite bitter; smooth; the last quarter of this was very good indeed with quite a complex, warming, almost sherry-like finish; I admit to pigging out on a curry before this - I really should try again on a less uncomfortably full stomach.

650ml bottle. Pitch black colour with average to huge, frothy to creamy, lasting, lacing, beige head. Roasty dark malty aroma, a touch of dark chocolate, hints of salty, smoked salami. Taste is roasty dark malty, minimally salty and grassy, a minimally sweet chocolately note accompanies the lasting finish.

Bottle from Ølbutikken. Almost black with a medium tan head. Roasted malt, chocolate, coffee and some toffee. A soft one, easy to drink. The finish was bitter.

Found this in the bargain bin. It was worth the 4 dollars I paid. Deep dark pour with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt and chocolate. Taste is roasted malt, a little sweetness, creamy and it had a burnt aftertaste. It was very tasty.

Bottle. Dark brown to black with a moccha head. Aroma: balanced roast, fruity, light chocolate and licorice. Taste: balanced roast, licorice, chocolate, fruity, coke and julmust, milky. Medium bodied, smooth. Very pleasant, but doesn’t really stand out from the rest.

Bottled. Pours deep brown with a large, creamy beige head that leaves a good lacing on the glass Nose of caramel, chocolate and coffee notes. Sweet flavor with malt and a slightly bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, creamy texture and soft CO2. A delicat porter.

Bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a moderate off-white head. Some caramel and roasted notes to the nose. Very smooth and easy taste - nice roasted flavors and so tasty.
