3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber into a goblet. Pours silky brown with a nice, persistent tan head. Aroma is slightly stale coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and smoke. Taste brings a very creamy mouthfeel with the stale coffee taste and a unpleasant acetyl bite. Expect better from Hoppin Frog, but it ain’t all bad. Easy drinking.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark, unclear amber coffee with a beige head. The aroma and flavor are a bit light unfortunately, bringing some vanilla lightly nutty malt flavors and not much else. I had higher expectations, wonder if it was older? I just bought it!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bomber from somewhere, I forget. First thought - this surely lives up to its name. Silky smooth in the glass and the throat! Mm-mmmm. The balance of roasted notes, mild bitterness and sweet finish is superb. I was put off from trying beers by these guys because of their garish graphics and (sometimes) silly beer names. My mistake.

650ml bottle from Cotteridge Wines. This poured almost black with a good sized brown head which diminished quite quickly.Aromas of chocolate malts and dark chocolate.Lovely smooth flavour of roast malt and chocolate with hints of coffee and toffee.Last part of the bottle and on warming a little a lovely blend of caramel and chocolate.Very satisfying and enjoyable.
