Dark, robust and silky-smooth, with many flavors of roasted, toasted and caramel malts. Porter is an old-world beer style, so popular that it helped start the industrial revolution. Taste the history.

Bomber. Mahogany pour with a medium head. Some lace on the silky head. Aroma of dark fruit (figs and currants), roasted malts and dusty yeast. Taste provides some chocolate, but not as heavy as you might expect. The dark fruit really stands out and makes this a very memorable porter. Medium bodied.

Pour is dark brownish black with a thin tan head...smell is faintly piney hoppy and lightly roasty chocolate...taste is fairly roasty and sweet with chocolate and hints of vanilla....very light chewy mouthfeel with light carbonation...nice...

Dark brown color with hints of copper when held to the light. Modest but fairly stable light tan head. Chocolate, grain and a bit of nuttiness and spice in the scent. To much wet grain in the nose for me. Sweet malt carom about, but there is a real spicy element that hit mid quaff and intrigues the senses. cinnamon, light clove and a few other mild curry type spices come in and out. Some bittersweet chocolate and higher end dark chocolates come to mind. I’m catching lots of chocolate in the finish and linger of this one and I like it. Thick rich feel. I’d certainly do more of this one. Weak start for me, but a very strong finish.

Bottle trade with fiver29. Poured black color with an average frothy brown head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate roasted malty and fruit aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture. Medium dark chocolate flavor with medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Solid complex beer.

Pours a barely transparent dark mahogany with a thin-lacing light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel malt and chocolate covered cherries with a touch of roasty malts and raisins. Body starts with a toasty dark caramely maltiness and good roasty dark chocolate flavor. Finishes smooth and bittersweet with a good dark chocolate finish. A nice porter.

Pours black with a fizzy (even makes the sound) beige fine head. Aroma of espresso and lesser so raisins, typical roasted malt. Delicious flavor, even though its not incredibly strong; roasted malt, coffee and raisins in perfect balance. Very earthy. I can taste a little bit of the blackberries that Oakes points out. Moderately sweet stuff. Smoke and some sweet coffee in the finish, the flavor is very traditional porter. Body is very thin for a porter, the fine fizziness of the carbonation is the only thing that saves it. Very very drinkable...more like a full flavored soda than a full bodied porter.
