COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark, robust and silky-smooth, with many flavors of roasted, toasted and caramel malts. Porter is an old-world beer style, so popular that it helped start the industrial revolution. Taste the history.

Bottle. A deep red, almost black beer with a big beige head. The aroma and taste is dusty and of roasted malt/coffee/chocolate, some rye bread and dark fruits. Medium to full body with a dry, coffee finish.

22oz bomber.
Pours a very dark brown, near black in color. A nice two inch head forms on the pour. Smell is highly roasted malts. Taste is a lot more of the roasted malts with just a hint of something sweet as well. Mouthfeel is full and creamy. Not sure "silky" is the word I would use to describe it, but still a damn good porter. HF is making some very good beers. If they could only up the complexity a bit they would be right there with the best.

Rogueone (506) - I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA - JUL 28, 2008
Bottle: Pours a mahogany pour with light brown highlights. Thick and fluffy head. Higher than average carbonation really lends to a velvety mouthfeel in conjunction with the roasted malts. Roasted notes and brown sugars are prominent here. Nice creamy texture. Definitely a great go-to porter.

Bottled - tasted blind. A brown beer with a red shine under a thin tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with medium notes of roasted malt, and so is the flavor, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Lakewood, Oh. - Rozi’s Fine Wines - 22 oz bomber. Pleasant, but not overly apparent aroma of chocolate and potting soil. Sweet flavor with some milk chocolate notes, a touch of fresh potting soil and some roasted notes. Mouthfeel is nice and silky like the name suggests. Solid midwestern Porter.

#27 Bottle [Sk8viking great American blind tasting] Small beige creamy head that mostly diminished. Spare display of lacework. Dark mahogany color. Aroma of sweet liquorish, chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Over the palate came light dried fruit, hint of burned malt, coffee and light bitter liquorish. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and light dry texture. Moderated bitter and sweet flavor. Lingering liquorish like finish. 7 / 3 / 7 / 3 / 15 = 3.5
