3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 a_cross (360) - Poole, Dorset, - NOV 15, 2012Jet black, the merest tint of brown; rapidly diminishing brown head; chocolate malt aroma; high carbonation; spice initially, then bitter chocolate, toasted malt then back to spice again; a little sweet and quite bitter; smooth; the last quarter of this was very good indeed with quite a complex, warming, almost sherry-like finish; I admit to pigging out on a curry before this - I really should try again on a less uncomfortably full stomach.

Thanks to Strykzone for sending me this bottle. Pours an opaque dark brown with a good sized beige head and lots of lacing rings. Nose is of chocolate roasted malts. Fairly bold body and a smooth creamy mouth feel. Flavor is chocolate first, then coffee. Nice drinking and tasty.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 ExpendableHero (667) - Florida, USA - JUN 4, 2013
Dark brown, almost black beer, with a tan head. Strong aromas of dark chocolate and coffee. Tastes of bitter dark chocolates, some burnt notes, some toasted dough, and dark coffee. Finish is of bitter chocolate. Not much to it, one dimensional but good. Powerful for a porter, this is more of a stout.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 beerbaaron (416) - Wisconsin, USA - MAY 16, 2013
The beer’s description pretty much sums it up... Dark blackish brown. Medium to large frothy light brown head, lasting. Aroma is milk chocolate, roasty, and a sort of earthy dustiness, slightly sweet. Medium body, thin, clean silky mouthfeel. Roasty, toasty, coffee in flavor. Dry bitterness. Roasty coffee finish.

aroma-roasty, chocolate, malt, oatmeal.
Taste is a lot thinner than I thought it would be, I guess it’s like silk! A little malty, chocolate, a little toffee coffee.

Bottle. Aroma is bourbon, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate and blueberries. The alcohol in the aroma is a bit disturbing. Mouthfeel is light and somewhat leathery. Flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and dark malty chocolate fruits. Decent ale with quite nice aroma!
