Dark, robust and silky-smooth, with many flavors of roasted, toasted and caramel malts. Porter is an old-world beer style, so popular that it helped start the industrial revolution. Taste the history.

Jet black, the merest tint of brown; rapidly diminishing brown head; chocolate malt aroma; high carbonation; spice initially, then bitter chocolate, toasted malt then back to spice again; a little sweet and quite bitter; smooth; the last quarter of this was very good indeed with quite a complex, warming, almost sherry-like finish; I admit to pigging out on a curry before this - I really should try again on a less uncomfortably full stomach.

On tap at the BeerTemple. Opaque black pour with thin tan foam. Aroma is roasty, coffee, torrefied malt, fruity. Taste is sweet and roasty, lots of coffee and tropical fruit, light roasted malt sourness. Palate is light-med bodied with light-med carbonation, pretty easy drinking, a bit too fruity. Good.

Poured deep, dark brown with a big beige head. Aroma of dark chocolate, roast malt and light coffee. Medium body, quite smooth, flavour of the aroma, light berries. Could be even better if the ABV was increased.

Drought. Dark brown with tan spongy head, caramel-burnt malt aroma, low carbonation, dusky toasted taste with alcohol overtones, longish finish with coffee aftertaste. Very nice porter, bordering a stout.

Pours black with a smooth light brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, chocolate, licorice. Taste is slightly more roasted, and has some caramel. Fairly sweet and round, and overall extremely gentle and balanced. Medium carb. On the edge of being boring though.
