COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dark, robust and silky-smooth, with many flavors of roasted, toasted and caramel malts. Porter is an old-world beer style, so popular that it helped start the industrial revolution. Taste the history.

Jet black, the merest tint of brown; rapidly diminishing brown head; chocolate malt aroma; high carbonation; spice initially, then bitter chocolate, toasted malt then back to spice again; a little sweet and quite bitter; smooth; the last quarter of this was very good indeed with quite a complex, warming, almost sherry-like finish; I admit to pigging out on a curry before this - I really should try again on a less uncomfortably full stomach.

TET (1806) - FINLAND - JAN 23, 2015
Almost black beer with a quite big and light brown head. Aroma is very good, balanced and even sophisticated. Chocolate, balanced roastiness, some liquirice and nuts, hint of vanilla. Taste has mild roastiness, nice malty sweetness, liquirice, some chocolate, hint of riped fruits. Medium bodied, amazingly smooth and velvety to drink. Just a great porter. Complex and balanced with the velvet palate.

Finom.

Bomber courtesy of hoppin’ boris 2013, IOU, poured on and along the New Year’s bourbon vanilla and pecan ice float. Cold metal filter coffee, char, unroasted bean, autumn twigs in aroma. Taste is greatly impeded by the thin mouthfeel and noticeable carbonation, going against the eponymous silky character of this porter, but transporting instead green apple peel, some vanilla, cocoa powder, firewood char, walnut. Less than silky-smooth yet still good.

Gedronken bij een proeverij van Plan b. Lekker vol moutige chocolate porter. Fluweelzacht maar eeleen beetje dun

Sample from 65 cl. bottle. Pitch black with a thin, tanned head. Roasted aroma with fruits, dark malts, coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Taste is light sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and roasted with chocolate and coffee. Very enjoyable Porter.

Bottle from unknown via Lawson. Pours an opaque brown/black, little bit of tan head. Aroma roasty, with some grassy, dark chocolate notes, maybe some smoke. Body thin and toasty, with a slightly sweet and nutty finish. Not generally a porter fan, but this is a nice beer.
