nolankowal (826), Dublin, Ohio, USA Feb 19, 2008 Bottle. Dark brown pour with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, dark fruits, and liquorice. Flavors of roasted malt, light smoke, dark chocolate, vinous fruits, and liquorice. Medium/thick body...quite thick for a porter...velvety mouthfeel ...roasty/bittersweet with a sweet roasty finish. NIce!
Skinnyviking (2590), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 19, 2008 Bottle. High creamy and long lasting light brown head. Pitch black body. Lovely coffee cococoa aroma with notes of roasted malt. Barley malt and cocoa flavor, creamy smooth and round. No hops bitterness. Low carbonation, short aftertaste. Impressive for a beer with such a relatively low alcohol percentage. charlotte (1163), Vanløse, Denmark Aug 18, 2008 Pitch black with medium beige head.Aromaof licorice and rosted malt, feels a littel metallic and has a note of nuts and caramel, still i had expected more from this beer. Capa (719), Yokosuka, Japan Aug 17, 2008 #700. Deep black with a nice beige head. Roasted malty aroma with toffee, nuts, molasses, and lightly sour. Body is a little thin, but makes for an easier drinking porter. Light roasted, malts, chocolate, molasses, ripe fruit, nuts, and awesomeness. A smooth, easy to drink, tasty porter. I’d go to this one on a regular basis if they shipped to Japan. RollinHard (527), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Aug 14, 2008 Thanks to Alexsdad06 for this cool extra! Pours brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, dark russian rye bread, macadamia nuts, toffee and vanilla. Really pleasant nose. Tastes a little more astringent, but only slight with plenty of dark chocolate, coffee, toasted rye, nuts and toffee. Like the label says, the mouthfeel is pretty silky, almost like an oatmeal stout, but it could be a little bit more creamy. It’s a little on the oily side. Overall though, this is really pleasing and has a lot of roasty and dessert flavors to offer while being nice and drinkable. sunevdj (1365), Copenhagen, Denmark Aug 10, 2008 Pours black with a beige head. Smells of toasted grain. Sweet with aromas of dark chocolate and hints of coffee. Medium bodied with a smoothe mouthfeel. Medium carbonation. Mellow finish again with hints of coffee.
