Dickinsonbeer (2480), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Mar 29, 2008 Bomber shared with some people at CL> Pours a nice deep dark brown and a nice head. Aroma is nice chocolate, some light roasted malts, nuttinesss and a wierd frutiness almost like raspberries. Flavor has even more of a raspberry flavor and reminds me of the market Cross pub porter which uses raspberries. Still lots of dark chocoalte in the flavor, toastiness, and roast almost coffeee like- and a smooth finish. prettty nice porter overall.
robinvboyer (964), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jul 25, 2008 deep black pour, nice thick crewamy beige head. Huger aroma of chocolate, and coffee, a superb porter. Darkover (1189), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 22, 2008 Dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee and cocoa. Flavor of roasted malt, cocoa and a little dark fruits. Body is kind of milky. xnoxhatex (778), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 21, 2008 Bottle thanks to Davinci?Dark brown with small creamy tan head. Smoky and cocoa with dry roasted malt aroma. Roasted malt is also the most prominent flavor with sweet cocoa, a little cherry and red fruit, smoky, pretty tasty. Medium well carbonated body that is pretty "silky". Another great one from Hoppin Frog. Retorp (2148), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 18, 2008 Courtesy of lb4lb. The aroma is very concentrated sweet dark fruits, alcohol, dusty earth, mild chocolate and some kind of spicy hop notes. The body is flat black and holds a thin tan head. The first sip offers, again, very sweet dark fruits like blackberry, cherry and blueberry. There is also ample chocolate, mild roast and the finish is looong and sweet. Decently tasty brew, but sweeter than I expected. EithCubes (1756), Indiana, USA Jul 10, 2008 Bomber. Light black malts and a lot of toffee in the nose, underlying yeastiness with caramel on top. Dark chocolate with roast and a little lactose. Near-pitch pour with a creamy, rocky light brown head. Watery body is lightly crisp and certainly dry, fruit (blackberry and currant, some raspberry) mingling with lighter roast and toast. Lightly bitter dark and milk chocolate. Hop prickling on the back end. Nice, balanced porter, smooth and very easy-drinking, but some of the Skittleous flavor components just aren’t for me.
