COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Introducing new Smashing Berry Ale! It’s rich and complex, with an assertive, satisfying berry character - more than most fruit beers.

Bottle, 22oz. A hazy, pale orange-golden beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma is rather berry-ish, raspberry mostly, with some orange and a touch. A faint ale-ish touch in the back, both in the aroma and the flavor. It’s rather thin on the palate, with a bit low carbonation I think. Dry. Raspberry, orange notes and a touch of citrus zest in the flavor. Low on bitterness. Sort of like drinking a sodapop this one. Qutie decent. 150618

Bottle 650ml @ Hotel room, Comfort Inn Downtown, Washington, DC
Pours hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, hint of citrus, raspberry, cherry and blueberries. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long berry finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is fizzy.

Draft pour at the source. Pours a hazy gold with a white head of foam. The aroma is nice raspberry. Smells a little tart, but the taste is more sweet than anything. Lighter body and medium carbonation. Not bad.

22 oz. bottle from Dutch’s. Appears to be fresh, so I think this can be un-retired. Pours a cloudy pale yellow color with a big, frothy, rocky white head that leaves just a wee bit of lacing. Aroma of strawberry jam, fresh raspberries, and pale and sweet malts. The flavor doesn’t bring as much fresh fruit, and comes across more as strawberry candy and raspberries, along with pale and sweet malts, and Lipton tea with lemon, like the kind that comes pre-made in a can. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel. Not bad, but definitely a little bit off.

Old rating. Clear gold pour with a medium white head. Nose is straight up raspberry and blackberry with a hint of wheat. Flavor is also malty with lots of raspberry and blackberry. Not bad for the style, but kinda tastes artificial.

In short: A very gross sweet fruity mess.
How: Bottle 22oz. Consumed about one year after purchase
The look: Very dark ruby (near black) topped by a medium beige head with medium retention
In long: Nose is very much like the dark bubblegum that kids like so much (and me too on occasion). Taste is extra-sweet "grapes" bubble gum (purple bubble gum) and concentrated mix-fruits juice (before adding three cans of water). Completely gross and undrinkable. I didn’t expect much but I love Hoppin Frog so I thought I’d give this one a try. This beer sucks more ass than a pervert with an anus-fetish.

7/23/10. Bomber shared by darn1207. This smells like generic raspberry/grape bubblegum BS, meh. Huge sweet berry flavor, super sweet raspberry flavor, but again with huge fake bubblegum flavor. Meh.

The mustard seeds in the area seem to have these hiding in the back of their beer cases. Yesterday I did the dark today it is the light. The aroma on this beer is like fruity light soda, mostly raspberry. The pour is pale, almost a orange hued champagne color. The hops and malts are very mild, to mild even. The flavor is mostly light fruit and carbonation. Due to the body is light and high carbonation, the finish was fast. This is not my usual style of beer. The light beer drinkers and fans of fruity wines might like this alot.

bottle thanks to muckjoe, pours light hazy yellow......very light with a thin white head. Raspberry jam aroma. Sweet raspberry juice and a thin pale malt background. Ends dry with a clean/boring finish. Really not my thing.

Light amber body with a filmy head and spotty lacing. Black berry and raspberry in the aroma with some pale malt and medicine. Light bodied and sticky sweet with a real empty finish. Cough syrup, concentrated berry juice flavor. Not very good.
