COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Introducing new Smashing Berry Ale! It’s rich and complex, with an assertive, satisfying berry character - more than most fruit beers.

Bottle, 22oz. A hazy, pale orange-golden beer with a small, off-white head. The aroma is rather berry-ish, raspberry mostly, with some orange and a touch. A faint ale-ish touch in the back, both in the aroma and the flavor. It’s rather thin on the palate, with a bit low carbonation I think. Dry. Raspberry, orange notes and a touch of citrus zest in the flavor. Low on bitterness. Sort of like drinking a sodapop this one. Qutie decent. 150618

(Draught) Pours a hazy dark golden (with pinkish undertones) body with a moderate off-white head. Aroma of candish berries and syrup with a similar artificial flavor that finishes somewhat dry.

Bottle shared by shigadeyo. Poured clear reddish amber color with an average fizzy white head that diminished slowly with fair lacing. Moderate berry tart citrus aroma. Medium body with a sticky texture. Medium sweet berry flavor with medium to heavy sweet finish of short duration. This beer did not meet my expectations.

22oz bottle acquired in trade with ogglethorp (thanks!). Poured a lighter yellow color with a large sized white head. Aromas of berry-liciousness and a little fruity. Tastes of the same with some wheaty/graininess. Berries definitely dominate. Sweet. Like drinking a sweet berry candy. You have to be in the mood for this one!

On draught at 69 Taps in Akron. This beer is a mostly clear light reddish-brown color with a medium-thin off-white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Sweet berry and malt aroma. Medium-bodied with a tart fruit character balanced by sweet malt and grain flavors. The finish is raspberries and malt and lingers awhile. Overall a pretty good Fruit beer.

22 oz. bottle from Dutch’s. Appears to be fresh, so I think this can be un-retired. Pours a cloudy pale yellow color with a big, frothy, rocky white head that leaves just a wee bit of lacing. Aroma of strawberry jam, fresh raspberries, and pale and sweet malts. The flavor doesn’t bring as much fresh fruit, and comes across more as strawberry candy and raspberries, along with pale and sweet malts, and Lipton tea with lemon, like the kind that comes pre-made in a can. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel. Not bad, but definitely a little bit off.

Thanks the the Ohio guys for this! Poured medium golden with a rather nice cap of off-white head. The aroma picked up a lovely dose of raspberry preserves and strawberry over some fruity meat and pale malts.. I really dug the aroma here. The flavor had pale malts and berry meat at the core with raspberry preserves and seeds surrounding.. balance wasn’t really there, but the components were OK. Lighter-bodied on the palate with relatively fresh berry character.. tacky around the edges. Not a very good beer, but drinkable.
