COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An abundance of fresh, natural fruit flavor makes this beer something special. You would think we picked the fruit moments before brewing.

Old rating. Darkest brown pour with a medium beige head. Aroma of raspberries and roasted malt. Silky chocolate character with not so subtle raspberry character before a roasty finish.

UPDATED: SEP 19, 2010 Pours dark mahogany into a Sam glass. Tan head with medium retention recedes leaving sheet lacing. Chocolate covered cherry aromas. Flat with toast and nuts and a nasty, lasting sour cherry pit finish. A little too much age on this one. Drain pour.

UPDATED: SEP 3, 2010 Very last bottle from Erik’s Grocery Bag in North Canton. Pours a dark mahogany-brown with a thin off-white head that disappears fairly fast except for an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of dark fruits and malt. Medium body with a raspberry character and notes of sweet malt and hops. The finish is very berry. Decent overall.

22 oz. bottle via trade with miketd - Pours a a clear deep mahogany color with reddish-brown edges when held to the light. Small off white head and light lacing. Aroma is dark berries. So is the flavor. Medium body. Nothing fancy here. Just a decent fruit beer that my friends whom I shared the beer with, really liked. Thanks Mike.

The mustard seeds in the area seem to have these hiding in the back of their beer cases. The aroma on this beer is strong, and strikingly similar to Framboise Lambic. Raspberry and black berry dominate the aroma. The pour is deep dark brown, with a medium light tan head. I had expected the beer to be super sweet based on the aroma, but the hops, and sweet malts are very present and make the beer very enjoyable. The beer finishes pretty fast, but not clean. The body is light and very very carbonated. Over all, I’m not a big fan of fruit beers, but this is pretty good. In my humble opinion, if it had less carbonation, it would be a much better beer.

[Bottle] shared by Skyview. Pours a caramel brown with little head. Aroma is chocolate and raspberries, light tartness, hard residual sugars, and a hit of cough syrup. Flavor is thin and unbearably sweet, lots of raspberry, just an artificial sweetness that lacks the solid fruity pectin for body.

Deep reddish brown color with very few off white bubbles that clung to the edges. Smells like black cherry ice cream with cough syrup poured over it. It tastes like a berry coke. Raspberry popsicle, grape cool-aid, and bing cherries all mushed together. It does not have the artificial taste I get in some fruit beers, but it still doesn’t seem like a good use of fruit flavor in a beer.

Received a 22-oz bomber via trade with shigadeyo. Pours a dark cherry cola colored brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin white ring. Aroma of both cherry and dark berry preserves, a hint of Raspberry Koolade and some caramel malt, Taste is medium to full bodied, with flavors of chocolate and raspberries with a hint of candi sugar. Finish is very sweet with a chocolate and berry aftertaste that slowly disappears. Over the top berry flavors.

Bomber, thanks to Nathan, I believe. Poured clear cola brown with a short-lived cap of beige head. The aroma picked up sweet darker berries, cola, and some caramel with vanilla and earthy overtones.. candied overall, and not all that bad. The flavor had toasted caramel and the same berries as the nose, with cocoa and cola coming through on the edges.. sweet chocolate-covered berry finish.. a little medicinal. Light-bodied with scratchy carbonation on the palate.. the dark malts did some good things in here, and I’d consider drinking another (not today, but at some point).

Trade thanks to Brigadier. Dark, clear red-brown pour, fast-fading beige head, minimal lace. Aroma of cherries and raspberries, bordering on the artificial, something in the dark fruit register of roasted malts, too. Flavor, not so good. The fruit flavors may well be natural, but the fruit, alcohol, and sugar come together like cherry cough syrup. Decidedly chemical edge. Thin bodied, yet also cloying.
