COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Sweet Evil BBW is fermented with both British and Belgian yeasts to create a memorable smoothness for this Belgian-style barley wine-style ale. Sweet malt flavors will become smoother and rich dark fruit characters will build with time to add a wonderful complexity and depth of flavor

650 ml bottle @ PBF IX (vertical with the BA version). Pours a dark copper colour with a small head. Aroma of apricot jam, biscuit and some grassiness. Flavour is very sweet with apricot sweetness, plums, residual sugar, mild herbal notes and biscuit. Medium bodied and soft carbonation. Very sweet sugary finish with some maltiness. Way too sweet. Maybe the barrel aged version is better...

650ml bottle. Clear copper colour with late awakening, small to average, thick, creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Malty aroma has notes of raisin, berries, jelly, fructose, cautious hints of toffee, a touch of Belgian yeast. Taste is heavily sweet malty, fruity, notes of raisin, sultana; hints of orange and lemon zest alleviate the sweet heaviness. Soft carbonation, oily texture, smooth, silky palate.

Bottle at Schouskjelleren, december 3rd 2013. Dar copper body with white lacings. Fruity aroma with butter and perfume, taste of sugar, rye bread, peaches, vanilla and flowers. Light spicy at the end, cloves and ginger. Rich sweetness and a thick sticky body. Not sure if I appreciate the blend of styles at play here.

22fl oz bottle from El Lúpulo Feroz, Oviedo.@home 10-04-2014.
In short: a "light" barley wine.
Pours deep golden with nice creamy off white head. Short head retention, poor lacing. Medium body, flat carbonation, silky texture. Malty, honey, liquorice, fruity and subtle tart aromas. Taste is fruity, sweet, honey, some liquor notes and again subtle tart flavours. Not too rich flavoured, watery compared with thicker barley wines. Enjoyable anyway.
