It pours a golden color. The smell is like liquid brown sugar. The taste is a perfectly sweet barley wine. I heart it so much.

Bottle from Santa. Awesome addition! Clear dark amber pour with no head. Aroma was very sugary, full of dried fruits. Figs come to mind. Caramel malt for days, good bit of booze. Flavors were very complex going in different directions at times. You first notice the sweet caramel malt, once you get past it an array of burnt sugar, apricots and light peach hit the palate. Very pleasing. Syrupy mouthfeel with light carbonation, slick and coating. Long sugary sweet finish. Almost Hardy like, although I haven’t had a Hardy in some time. Either way I am enjoying this very much. A unique take on the style, very well done. Thanks a ton to whoever sent this!

Bottled at Big Beers and Barley Wines. I was completely surprised by this offering...in a good way. Super slick and still looking pour. Trended to sweet side and was velvet smooth. The name says it all: sweet evil.

Beautiful crystal clear deep amber pour from a 22oz bomber. Slight off white head. Viscous and thick, you can tell this is high gravity goodness. Malty nose - on the sweet side for sure, but also a few pepper notes and big juicy fruit. Very nice!

22 ounce bottle
This release was on my radar as soon as I saw it on the shelves. I have a couple of others to drink very soon as well. Writing up this review makes me want to crack one open right now. Hoppin’ Frog is still hitting it out of the park though this is not quite as good as Naked Evil.
Aroma / Appearance - The ruby red base is rich with virtually no carbonation or head except the occasional trickle. Candi sugar, English malts, and cotton candy are almost like a carnival in a bottle. The base is thick as if tea grounds were left too long in the mug. Thick, boozy, and strong, it lives up to expectations.
Flavor / Palate - Southern style iced tea with a generous amount of candi sugar and yeast sweetens the palate. The body is heavy yet surprisingly not overly boozy. It might be full and robust but not over the top. One drawback is that it does get to be cloying after a sip or two. However this is true of most aged barleywines. Buy a bottle now and one to open in two years’ time.

Poured from a 22 ounce bottle. The pour is fairly dark brown, but has good translucency and just a thin head of white foam. The aroma has a caramel apple thing going on that I really enjoy. The taste is sweet caramel and dark fruits and some apple. Pretty good despite its current ratings.

Courtesy of Dak! Pours a nice almost copper color but leaning gold with thin white head. The aroma is kind of sugary candy like malts, peach, apricot and an interesting mix of ginger, oak and molasses. Cool. The taste is very different with peach, grape, apricot and sugar coated ginger root. Wow, this is fully sweet, fully smooth, fully rich and fully different. I dig it.

Bottle pours clear dark orange with thin white head. Aroma fruity/malts. Taste interesting combination of dark fruits, citrus, a bit of cloves and licorice and sweet barleywine.malt flavor. You can definitely pick out the Belgian flavors but the barley wine not as much - more like there was a sweet stickiness added to the Belgian aspect. Palate thick and sticky. Alcohol evident with nice burn at times..
Very sweet which I didn’t mind but won’t appeal to all.

Bomber - thanks Greg! Clear orange pour with minimal head. Ungodly sweet - apple and grape. Holy crap. Lots of fun!

Pours an amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is of caramel malts, dark fruits, a hint of some floral hops, and slight aroma of alcohol. Very thick on the palate, almost have to chew it. Lots of dark fruits on the flavor. Some sweetness comes out on the finish with a little bitterness. Not too much warming for a barley wine but it’s still present.
