COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The release of our Turbo Shandy Citrus Ale is around mid June. Born from European tradition, our Shandy is a refreshing combination of lemon and light malt flavors. Unlike traditional shandys, Turbo Shandy, revs it up a couple of notches with a high test, full flavored approach as only Hoppin’ Frog can do.

Pours hazy pale yellow with small white fizz. Smells very citrusy and has a strong lemonade character. Taste is citrus fruit and then lemonade. Light-bodied with a prickly texture and lively mouth-carbonation, Hoppin’ Frog Turbo Shandy Citrus Ale finishes with a little citrus bitterness.

UPDATED: SEP 14, 2012 This has been on my wishlist for a while because, well, I had to know, Man. I had to know. And what I know now is this you can add Shandy to the list of beers that really don’t need to be "imperialized" or what ever you call it. It’s not really bad - nicely sweet, viscous palate, maybe a little medicinal and boozy. Actually a bit fatiguing, to tell you the truth. Perhaps if this was in a12 oz bottle instead of a 22 I would’ve enjoyed it a bit more...

Save your time and money. Hazy yellow little head, this is what Budweiser and orange would taste like if you mixed them.

In the words of John McEnroe, "You cannot be serious!" What the shit is this? Yes, it’s drinkable, but so is Coca-Cola for that matter. Look, Hoppin’ this is refreshing in some ways, but this has nothing to do with beer or brewing in my opinion. Is this Mellow Yellow with alcohol added post production? Come on, You Cannot Be Serious!

Pours hazy straw color with white head. Smells like hi-c orange drink. Tastes like sour, old orange juice mixed with a pale lager. Not very good. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation.

Bottle from Total Wine. Pours yellow with minimal head. Aroma of sweet & tangy lemonade; almost like Gatorade flavor. Nice citrus, Jolly Rancher & Lemonhead candies, all around the mouth. Leaves a stickiness to the lips. Medium carbonation and light body. Absolutely no trace of the 7% ABV. Thought the carbonation was a bit flat, but this was a refreshing & enjoyable brew. Almost reminds me of a softer carb, super-lemony version of a Berliner Weisse.

A decent shandy. It’s a little overly sweet but the wheat character and the lemon are well done. Nice carbonation and a good sipper on a hot day like today. I’m happy a craft brewer decided to make a shandy and make it pretty well. Tone the sweetness down a bit and this would be a most excellent beverage.

Tallahassee, Fl - Liquor Loft - 22 oz bomber. Pours a hazy medium golden with an initial white head that dissipates quickly. Aroma of Lemonhead candy, instant lemonade and a touch of yeast. Flavor is refreshing and fresh with some natural lemon accents, a touch of lemon drop candy, some brief orange juice notes. Mouthfeeel is about the right thickness for the style. Good summer refresher.

Can’t believe I haven’t rated this as it is one of my favorite Hoppin Frog beers. Citrusy lemon flavor that is smooth and thirst quenching. No way you could tell it was 7% ABV. Did I mention it was tasty, very tasty! I love it when it’s 90 degrees outside and I’m grillin’. Just sippin’ Turbo Shandy and burnin’ the ’dogs.
