COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The release of our Turbo Shandy Citrus Ale is around mid June. Born from European tradition, our Shandy is a refreshing combination of lemon and light malt flavors. Unlike traditional shandys, Turbo Shandy, revs it up a couple of notches with a high test, full flavored approach as only Hoppin’ Frog can do.

11/24/11. Happy Thanksgiving! 22oz bottle courtesy Tim! Hazy yellow pour, reminds of a pale witbier, with a small white head that fades. Light, sweet aroma of lemon peel, a bit of window cleaner, and pale malts. Sweet flavor of lemonade, a bit of cleaner again, something that reminds me of mint, and a touch of sweet maltiness. Can’t say I love it.

Bottle. Light vibrant clear yellow pour, little carbonation and a lemony aroma. Flavor was mostly lemon, malt and that was about it. Decent beer and not overpowering on the lemon, but more of an alcopop in taste.

glennmastrange (2324) - hobe sound, Florida, USA - SEP 29, 2011
Bottle. Light hay for the malt, moderate perfume for the hops, light soap for the yeast, with notes of tangerine, lemon and fruit wine. Head is none existant and color is hazy amber. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly to moderately acidic and faintly bitter. Palate is light to medium, watery with a lively carbonation, Too fruity and too citrusy for me to like this beyond a refreshing boat drink. Pass.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2011 Bottle. 22 oz. Split with Vinnie on multiple occasions, one being tonight. Pours a light yellow straw with a fuzzy white, thin head. Aroma of granny apples, pure fresh squeezed lemonade, pinapple Haribo gummy bears, Orange Crush soda, and Ectoplasm Hi-C. And get this: it tastes like a cleaner, lighter, slightly boozy version of an Orange Crush. Holy fucking shit. This is the ultimate in extreme refreshment and delicious, rich tastes. Finishes with an effervescent, silky smooth lemon wash.

22 ounce bomber, that poured a clear sparkling yellow color. Aroma of citrus and that is pretty much it. Taste is lemons, and a ouch of lime, a slight tart finish. Real refreshing for an outside beer and cooking on the grill in Florida. doesn’t taste like a 7% beer, tastes more like a Sprite.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange-yellow with lots of bubbles. Aroma is sweet and crisp, very bright and refreshing, of citrus and sugar. Taste is sweet and tart, juicy lemon, sugar, and just a hint of malt. Lingering tartness with a tacky sweetness. More like an alcopop than a beer, but very refreshing.

Poured from a bottle. This smells and tastes like carbonated lemonade. I give it credit for hiding the alcohol well, but it would be way cheaper to make an electric lemonade, which would be about the same. Not a good beer at all.

Bomber from Capone’s and Craft Ale House. Pours turbid, post-multi vitamin urine yellow with minimal head. Nose is lemony citrus, malt, some earthy notes. Tastes very citric, lemony and orangy, with mild malt notes and a fruity finish.

22oz bottle. Poured a cloudy yellow color with a small sized head. Aromas and tastes of limes and lemons. Sweet with a light tart finish. Different.

Very citrusy and weird. I don’t really know this style that well but this tastes like a weird limeade to me.
