Definite lemonade. Light on the beer flavor. Slight creosote on the nose, but refreshing.

Bottled. A golden beer with a thin white head. The aroma has notes of lemon. The flavor is sweet with primary notes of lemon, but also light notes of malt.

Pours a hazy pale yellow with a medium white head. Aroma has lemon candy...like a jolly rancher...and some wheaty notes. Tastes like lemon hard candy too...not acidic or tart...more sweet. Mouthfeel is medium and the finish has refreshing lemony citrus.

Very citrusy and weird. I don’t really know this style that well but this tastes like a weird limeade to me.

Pours a light golden with thin white head. Smells like a lemon/lime gatorade to me. Taste of lemon/lime and citrus. Not terribly sweet in the finish actually. Very refreshing, probably couldn’t drink too much of this though.

REVIEW
Style: Fruit beer, shandy
ABV: 7%
Purchased at: Woodman’s Market; Madison, WI.
Pour: Blonde pour with a medium white head.
Aroma: Lemon fruit scent, maybe some yeast notes as well.
Flavor: The sweet lemonade is there. I described it as very close to drinking a Squirt soda.
Ratebeer.com rating: 39/100

Overall: C+
My recommendation: A hot day, this works well. The only drawback for me, not enough beer flavor and too sweet. A good 22 oz bottle to share with somebody.

Bottle at Hoppin Frog Beer and Food Pairings @ de Molen, Bodegraven. Somewhat artificial aroma, loads of lime. Quite refreshing though and although quite sweet, not too cloying. Still a bit too much lemonade for me.

Bottle@Home. Very nice shandy. But I don’t like shandy so it will not score high I’m afraid. Very sweet but not sugary or artificial. Ditto for the citrus.

Blutt59!! Okay this is so weird. Limoncello poured on fruity pebbles cereal. Reminds me of middle school!! wait, what?

22oz bottle. Half-hazy yellow color. Minimal white head. Prominent lemon soda aroma. I guess that’s what a shandy is supposed to taste like, but for me personally, it’s too much. My cider-drinking friend Lindsey loves this stuff, though. Zesty sweet taste. Crisp lighter carbonation, more dry texture. Decent shandy, just not really my thing. 7% is a pleasant surprise, though.
