Cask, gravity at Oxford Beer Festival, Fri 28th Oct 2011 Huge aroma of ’Burton Snatch’ really, really eggy, golden in colour, some light film of white across he top. Little sweet, could do with more of a hoppy bite, but it’s ok. Tricky to rate stood up in a very busy area with, beer, programme etc in hands. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.2

[Cask at Milton Keynes Beer Festival 2011] Very pale gold, slight white head and a light fizz. Watery, with a vague lemon flavour and a slight dusty bitterness. Bland, not much to it.

Cask (handpump) @ Market Porter, 9 Stoney Street, Southwark, London, Greater London, England SE1 9AA.

Clear light to medium yellow colour with a average, frothyy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, toasted, pale malt, light hoppy, citrus. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110618]

Cask@Market Porter, London. Very hazy yellow colour, a bunch of lace from the small white foamy head. Aroma is earthy, malty and has some wooden and floral notes as well. Flavour is quite similar with some mild toffeeish and fruity notes as well.

Cask, The Pub, Leicester. Hazy pale gold with a white foam. Aromas are toast malts with dusty yeast and sharp but not fruity lemon. Flavours are very yeasty with some background sweet lemon. Dry and woody towards the finish with floral notes and pepper. I made a homebrew like this once. Not bad.

Cask at the Market Porter. Very pale, creamy head. Not much aroma, lemony flavour on top of a fairly average bitter base.

Cask conditioned handpump Wig & Pen Northampton. A blonde beer with a white head. Grassy hops in the nose with a bit of biscuit. Refreshingly drinkable with decent hoppy flavours although again they are more grassy than citric. Nothing stands out but it’s a decent tipple.
