Cask handpump at The Horse & Groom, Caulcott, Oxon, Sunday 2nd February 2014 Fin, Loz & Isobel Pours amber looks wise it is very clear not much of a head. In the mouth a middling bitterness a little toffee and caramel, malty and not so hoppy. Its fine, but hardly any hops which surprises me as Loz likes this. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Cask @ Bedford Arms, Bedford. Amber/tan. Clear with small but lively head. Aroma of chestnuts and freshly milled paper. Hints of forest fruit. The taste is nice and bittersweet with a bitter kick at the end. A decent pint, but not Hopping Mad’s best.

UPDATED: AUG 25, 2013 Cask at the FILO, Hastings. Amber with a loose white head; sour fruity aroma; light in the mouth with some sour fruit and a biscuity body; then a dry finish. Rather average. (11/7/2012 - 6/4/6/2/9=2.7)

50cl bottle from Alfred the Grape, Marlow. Golden amber with a ring of white head, after a rather flat pour; bisucity aroma; sweet biscuity malt taste; and a dry finish. Still a very average bitter - no reason to change the score. (8/25/2013 - 6/4/6/2/9=2.7)

Very floral hoppieness and piney. Light carmel, but not sweet. Thin and watery...not great.

Amber color; small creamy head. Light aroma of caramel and very light aroma of manure. The mouthfeel is fairly light, with light caramel flavor and not much beyond that. Dry finish.
Too simple.

Cask, Swan & Rushes, Leicester. Dark amber with a thin foam. Aromas are toffee and biscuit with floral, soapy notes and lemon. Lightly nutty with medicinal aspects. Flavours are weetabix malts with lemon and lime. Dry tea with hints of apple. Lightly spicy on the finish. OK.

Cask, gravity, at 34th Real Ale and Cider Festival ’11. Amber. Malt aroma with a touch of sulphur. Taste is better: malt and biscuit with a sharp bitter finish. A touch too lively.

Handpull at Bell and Bear Emberton, very enjoyable pint, noticeable fruity hops, with a nice full bodied caramel malt flavor

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’11. Amber with white head. Quite a standard Best Bitter type, pleasantly dry giving a refreshing bitterness with a leafy type English hop, decent, fuller malty body. Pretty reasonable.
