Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’11. Amber with white head. Quite a standard Best Bitter type, pleasantly dry giving a refreshing bitterness with a leafy type English hop, decent, fuller malty body. Pretty reasonable.

Cask, Swan & Rushes, Leicester. Dark amber with a thin foam. Aromas are toffee and biscuit with floral, soapy notes and lemon. Lightly nutty with medicinal aspects. Flavours are weetabix malts with lemon and lime. Dry tea with hints of apple. Lightly spicy on the finish. OK.

Cask, gravity, at 34th Real Ale and Cider Festival ’11. Amber. Malt aroma with a touch of sulphur. Taste is better: malt and biscuit with a sharp bitter finish. A touch too lively.

Handpull at Bell and Bear Emberton, very enjoyable pint, noticeable fruity hops, with a nice full bodied caramel malt flavor
