3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 chriso (7254) - London, Greater London, - SEP 12, 2012Cask (gravity dispense) at Reading Beer Festival on 28 April 2011. Amber colour rather than golden. More malty than hoppy, although I didn’t find it particularly fruity. Moderately bitter but the hops are more earthy than aromatic. In summary, a decent, if unspectacular, middle of the road bitter.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 DruncanVeasey (6116) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Premier, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JUN 13, 2011
Cask handpull, Whitefriars, Coventry, 12/06/11. Bronze-amber with big- bubbled froth. Dug earth, sesame and English trees aroma. Dank and mushroomy in a good way (I think) with hints of elder and sesame. Cleaner, biscuit and toasted nut notes in the finish. Some sulphur on the nose. Chewy and damp with metallic grassy streaks. Not what I was looking for at all after a pint of The Doctor, but decent enough.

Cask conditioned at Banbury Beer Fest ’11. Gold with white head. Easy, malty beer, some fruity notes and a little sweetish, light on the palate but little follow through, just an easy going beer.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hughie (3994) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAR 14, 2011
Cask at Wellington Arms, Bedford. Gold with a white head. Hair oil aroma. Sweet, full malt taste with a touch of citrus. Mid to sharp bitter finish. A new brewery in Olney, a few miles up the River Ouse from here. A good start: I liked this positive, punchy beer.
