DYCSoccer17 (2013), Davis, California, USA Jun 12, 2007 10 ounce sample on tap at the brewpub. Sticky, sweet, caramelly aroma with some light buttery diacetyl notes present. Some faint metallic hop aromas also come through. Grogeous transparent mahogany body with a very light tan average sized head. A little sour astringency to start. This is kind of weird. Becomes sweet and very buttery. TONS of diacetyl present. Finishes with very roasted, burnt chocolate flavors and finally more diacetyl. If you don’t like diacetyl, this is NOT the beer for you. bhensonb (2883), Woodland, California, USA Apr 8, 2007 Light aroma of roasted malts. Dark ruby color w/beige head. Creamy smooth, malty, balanced with a decent amount of hop. This has the characteristics of an ale. Finish is roasted malt. It laced. It was so much more tasty than the foregoing words reveal.
