Bottle shared by puzzl. Deep amber-orange beer with a thin yellowish-beige head. Lots of cinnamon, allspice and ginger on the nose. Sweet and slightly malty on the back. It’s very pumpkin beer like with some sweet spiciness and a lingering gingery character. Kind of simple with an earthy hoppiness. As it warms, more malty sweetness comes out along with the peppery alcohol.

Pours cloudy amber with a thick beige head and a spicy aroma. There is an herbal caramel malt flavor with a very bitter spicy finish.

Bottle. Ruby amber beer with an off-white head. Sweet malt, spice, and citrus hop aroma. Sweet malt, Xmas spices, grapefruit and pine flavor. Lingering sweetness that borders on sacharine - with hops. Very muddled. Nice hop flavor but spices donít do anythign for it.

Bomber pours clear copper with tan head. The mild aroma offers up holiday spices, caramel malts, crystal malts, some sweet dark fruity esters and hints of vague hoppiness. The taste begins a touch creamy on the palate and introduces pine hop flavor mixing with malts, crystal type malts and winter-ish spices. The pine hop presence grows in bitterness as well as the winter spiciness. These notes go well together and Iím really enjoying this. It leaves a moderate level of pine hop like bitterness lingering. Great winter brew.

bottled, big thanks to chris for this one. poured a rich shade of amber with a hint of haze and a lasting off-white head; aroma of apple and rhubarb tart with lemon zest and hints of nutmeg and cinnamon; soft mouthfeel; some rusty tea flavours with a good hit of bitterness and some light lurking grapefruit. nice to drink a holiday beer that balances the xmas spices with some tangy hops

GABF 2004: Pours a clear darkish copper with a thin off-white head. Aroma is rich, complex and well-spiced with notes of cinnamon and nutmeg supported by crystal malts. Body has a nice subtle maltiness and some dry caramel and a spiced finish. A nice holiday beer, but nothing too exciting.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine Wine & Spirits - 22 oz bomber. Medium copper pour, light, off white head that dissipates quickly, light lacing. Aroma is intriguing and spicy and just this side of cloying with a ginger and cinnamon thing going on. The spicy concoction carries over to the flavor and reminds me somewhat of horehound candy, mothballs, cinnamon and ginger. Finish has some jellied candy notes. Mouthfeel has an artificial stickiness to it. 12 oz of this would have been enough.

clear copper with a fleeting head. Big spicy herbal smell with black currant, anise. Taste is full of fresh hops, pale malts, and that holiday spice mix. Not too bad. 11287

22 oz bottle from hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. Hazy golden brown with a nice off white creamy head. Falls very unevenly. Cool looking. This begins with big nutmeg and pumpkin but soon huge fruit emerges. That fruit is not really citrus, not tropical, not stone, etc. Not sure what it was. Whatever, it was good. Lets call this a humulus holiday beer. I liked everything about it. And all of that fruit was the icing on the, well, humulus. Not usually a fan of holiday beers but this one stood out.

GABF 2005: Clear light coppery hue with a good head and some lace. The aroma is spicy and piney with notes of caradmom, nutmeg, belgian yeast and sugar. The taste has a big spicy bite and a hoppy character as well. I got cinnamom in the flavor I didnít find on the nose. The aftertaste and feel is a bit bready, chalky and short. An okay beer, different and some will enjoy the spice blend.
