Delirium (636) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - DEC 14, 2008
Bomber. Pours dark amber-orange with a moderate off-white head. Aroma is Christmas spices, sweet malt, and some citrus hops. Flavor is various spices, a bit stronger than in the aroma, with a bit of caramel malt with a hint of roastiness, and finishing with a bit of citrus hops. Main flaws are alcohol is a bit too noticeable when it warms, and finish is quite short. The malt/spice/hops interaction is interesting overall though. Pretty good for the spiced-Christmas-beer style.

22oz bottle from Bevmo Carmel Mountain. I was a lot more into this beer than I thought I’d be. Had a great spicy, sweet nose. On the pallet I found hints of habanero, banana, and other random fruits.

Headbanger (2471) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - DEC 31, 2011
22oz bottle 12/31/11 (Binny’s Glen Ellyn)-44° in Lager Glass-Pours a light to medium amber with a small off white covering for a head. Aroma of spices, caramel, and matl. Taste of spices, malt, caramel, and toffee. This medium to full bodiedbrew is well balanced and goes down quite easily. Nice holiday brew.

Pours slightly hazy copper color with off white head. Smells like a pumpkin pie with cinnamon and nutmeg and some toasted malts. Similar flavors. Medium body with lively carbonation.

btl. A clean copper pour with hard hints of amber. Spicey aroma that has hard cinnamon and nutmeg. Spice is light with medium malt character that struggles to carry the abv. Decent bitter finish. Carbonation is over the top for me just a tad and its a wee bit thin. Overall a good warm holiday beer.

22 ounce bomber purchased at BevMo in Natomas, CA. Fruity, cinnamon, nutmeg, maybe a bit of vanilla present in the nose. There also appears to be some herbal, floral hoppiness present as well. Somewhat sour...kind of smells off, actually. Transparent amber-orange body with a medium light tan head and sufficient lacing present. Light cinnamon and nutmeg spiciness to start, which is followed up by a nice nutty, caramel chewy maltiness in the middle. Lingering floral hoppiness comes in at the end with some more spices making their way into the flavor. A little dry, bitter ethanolic finish, but the flavor makes up for the awkward aroma. Pretty good.

Bomber. Pours copper with off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, orange zest, nutmeg, perhaps ginger, and hops. Tasted malty, with the spiced and hops complementing each other. A good holiday ale.

clear copper with a fleeting head. Big spicy herbal smell with black currant, anise. Taste is full of fresh hops, pale malts, and that holiday spice mix. Not too bad. 11287

Goofy label with an okay beer behind it. Orangish pour with a decent, off-white head. Aroma is very hoppy and floral, to te point that I expected more of an IPA. The flavor is flat. Wooden, grassy, and dusty, without the hop bitterness the aroma led me to expect. There is a mystery flavor that is medicinal, kind of like the anti-bacterial first-aid spray. This might be worth a second try, but I’m not racing out to get it.

aroma starts off as a light smell of spices...a little nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon. first taste is all hops, but not super hoppy like an IPA or DIPA....more like an APA. piney, spicy hops up front, but the after taste and linger is of the spices...but just lightly. as the beer warms, the spices come out more. over solid beer, nothing spectacular...very drinkable.
