Decent sized tan head of varying sized bubbles. Spicy aroma with some ginger and nutmeg, vegetal aromas, some light roasted grains and grass. Color is a dark amber with good clarity. Spicy flavor as one would expect with lots of ginger and cinnamon, earthy vegetable and straw flavors, light roastyness and some tea leaves. Moderate lingering bitterness late swallow with more spices and a somewhat chalky palate. An ok brew that is heavy on the spice. Not something that I would like to drink regularily.

UPDATED: DEC 8, 2013 Draft at beer fest. Hazy copper with minimal white head. The aroma is spices and brown sugar. The taste is dry, bitter, light spices. This was a bit weird, honestly.

Pour is a hazy red with a small white head. Aroma is all spice. Nutmeg and cinnamon. Flavor is kind of a syrupy malt with some of the spice. Finish leaves some candied apple like malt with some butterscotch on the tongue. This was a bargain bin pickup at about a quarter of the regular price so it was probably well past its prime as the spices were kinda lost. But fresh I could see this as a overly spiced winter ale.

Bomber. This was disappointing after I have had a few really good Holiday Ales the past few weeks. This has way to much clove and nutmeg spice aroma and flavor. It was one of those "first sip interesting" because it is different, "second sip not so good" and downhill from there.

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2007 22 oz bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar: Clear amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of pumpkin pie spices. Flavor starts with some nutmeg and clove followed by a touch of cinnamon with a light citrus bitterness in the finish. Medium body is smooth with moderate carbonation. This spice thing ain’t my thing.

Bottle. Not a fan of spiced beers and especially not a fan of this beer. 2 sips and then down the drain.

Bottle. Dark orange pour with thin off-white film on top. Aroma of cinnamon, banana-nut bread, and some sweet malt. The flavor is similar, pretty vegetable-like, with some bitterning hops in the finish. Somewhat a strange concoction of flavors.

Bomber - I found this bottle in a Chicago beer store in the summer time. Pours cloudy amber with a small off white head. It has a nice roasted ginger aroma to it and unfortunately that is the best part. Spicy and malty and a thin finish. Could have been much better.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber body with a small fizzy off-white head. The nose is a mash up of caramel sweetness, light floral hops, and a mix of spices like cinnamon and nutmeg. The flavor is a pretty odd mash up as well. Fairly heavy caramel sweetness and moderately bitter hops, it comes across as a hoppy Amber, but then the spices take over on the finish. Not sure I really dig the fairly heavy hop level with all these spices, they just don’t seem to work together all that well. Then there’s the fact that this is all over a fairly boring Amber ale base. Medium bodied and a bit clingy with soft fizzy carbonation. Meh, I think I’d pass on this one if I had it to do over.

Pours a finger and half of head on a hazy dark red colored body. The aroma is rich malt, cinnamon and fresh baked bread. Nice. The taste is super sweet throughout. There are little bits of spice and lemon, but the sweetness is dominating. The texture is soft with moderate carbonation. The sweetness is too much for me.
