2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught at the Pembroke Pines, FL location. Very dark brown. Roasty coffee aroma. Medium dry with clean hard mouthfeel. Fairly hoppy and grapefruity with long salty finish. The flavours are all there, but the malt profile/mouthfeel is hard and lifeless.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark amber color. Pretty nice hop and roasted malt aroma. Good body, malty, roasty, hoppy (maybe just a bit acid). Equilibrated final, with roasted barley and bitterness.

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Faint roasted aroma and a slightly roasted taste. You get the feeling that there’s a good beer trying hard to get out, but what you’re left with is fairly disappointing.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Served on draft at the brewpub. Pours a clear dark reddish brown color with a large creamy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of roasted malts and a bitter hop finish. The taste is chocolate, nuts, roasted malts and faint hops. Thin bodied, just like all their beers. The best of the 6 I tried, but that’s not saying much.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
I have had this many times on tap at Hop’s restaurants. This is an ok beer, but I liked to mix it with their red beer. By itself it is a middle of the road porter. Head doesn’t last long at all and it has a pertty thin mouthfeel. Not bad, but not great.
