Tap at the brewpub, Berlin. Pours clearish yellow with a fine, white head. Nice biscuity malt aroma with light corn and straw. Medium sweet flavor, very biscuity, with light and crisp straw bitterness, and some fine grass. Medium bodied with fine, smooth carbonation. Crisp, sweet finish, crispy biscuits, a little white sugar. There is a nice, crisp hop bite in the finish with some lasting, rich and sweet biscuits. One of the better pilseners I’ve had in Berlin.

On tap at the site. Golden with a small white head. Strong DMS aroma with grainy malt and herbal hops in the background. Sweetish bready malt flavour with a caramel note.

Draught in the pub. Lacing white head with a lightly hazy blonde body. Malty nose slightly musty cleanser, good hops presence. Hoppy and juicy taste, just a great hop bite, quenching with low bitterness. Medium body, crisp and smacking but not harsh. Mild citrus notes. One of the more refreshing Pilsner I’ve had this year, really showcases a beautiful Tettnanger quality.

On draft at the brewery. Hazy, golden body topped with a creamy white, finger thick head. Lasting and good lacing. Floral hop aroma on top of some honeyish malt. Grainy, almost cereal like malt flavor with milder hops than in the nose. Still floral. Honey with a dash of lemon peel. Medium body with balanced bitterness. Delicious and a nice departure from many of the other pilseners of the past few weeks.

Hausbrauerei Hops & Barley, Berlin. Én ettől egyáltalán nem estem hasra, mint sok korábbi értékelő, persze lehet csak egy gyengébbet sikerült éppen kifogni. Egy átlagos, iható Pils, ráadásul ez is túl szénsavas volt.

Beer No. 40 on my tour through Austria, Germany and Denmark.
On tap at Hops & Barley. Yellow/golden coloured, small white head, fresh hay in the nose. Moderate malty, hay and light caramel with short but pleasant hoppy finish. Simple and refreshing.

On tap at the brew-pub. Pours a hazy yellow with white head. Smells of fruity hops notes. Dry and quite fruity. Some grape aromas. Medium to light bodied. Dry finish.

My Bottom Line :
Citrusy noble hops, doughy pils malts and biting herbal hop bitterness make for a smashing pint of Pilsener.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A veil of foam tops the shiny golden mist.
-The nose was nudged by that earthy, funky pedio-like touch which also appeared in their Weizen.
-The flavor profile is balanced and full of character.
-Effervescence is too prickly for my tastes. I’d prefer bigger, softer, sparse bubbling, ŕ la natural carbonation found in Kellerbiers, for example.
-This isn’t a very dry Pilsener, but it is never too sweet either. A nice middle ground body-wise, admirably quaffable.

On tap at the brewpub.

Sehr hopfig-fruchtiger Antrunk, betont grasig. Absolut aromatisch und natürlich. Viel CO2, die Intensität bleibt konstant, hopfig mit deutlicher Gras- und Fruchtieinlage. Stark hopfig-herber Abgang. Das Stichwort des Bieres lautet HOPFIG, keine Frage! Ein nicht ganz alltägliches Pils. Test vom 11.10.2008, Gebinde: Fass Noten: 10,13,10,12,-,12 - 11,63
