On-Tap at the brewpub in Eden Prairie: Named after big mosquitos- Slightly hazy dark gold color, light and loosely frothed off-white head sits turbidly amongst its own lacing. Aroma is a nice puree of fruits, nice appeal to it, albiet a bit off style from most Pales but nice. Apple, pear, berry, and mandorine orange make up the nose with a fruit salad display of nuances and very light hints of balsam wood. Taste goes nowhere however with the fruits encountered in the smell. Its quite plain, very dullish sweet malts, barely any of the fruits from the smell make their way in anywhere. Finish is lightly dry with slight wood and hay-like hops. Partial toastyness ensues as well into some of the finish. Feel is light and smooth, slightly crisp, lightly dry finish, not withstanding a whole lot of character. Its clean and refreshingly quick and smooth, but not a Pale to "pale" in comparision with any other Pale Ale.

This draft brew from the brewery poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized off-white colored bubbles that were mostly lasting and left behind a transparent very softly carbonated golden . The aroma was hoppy and soapy. The mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish. The flavor contained notes of soapy hops. Not one that I would buy again.

On tap-Ft. Myers, FL Appearance-Small, smooth ivory head, very little carbonation, fair amount of lacing, transparent, and a golden hue. Aroma-Sweet, citrus, hoppy, and hint of caramel. Flavor-citrus, hoppy, lightly bitter, and finishes somewhat watery. Mouthfeel-tingly and light-medium in body. An easy to drink APA and worthy of a try at this location.

On draught at the Newington, CT location. Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of citrus, some pepper, some caramel. tastes citrussy and lightly bitter with some spiciness as the beer warms. Finishes with a light peppery bite. Maybe this beer is different in CT. It was listed as an IPA hopped with Centennial hops and was much better than Florida location entries suggest.

Bright amber with rich lacing. Impressive for Hops. Clean hop and grain mingled with ginger ale/7up. Thin and liquidy. Formulaic yet fresh.

Golden-bronze colour. Woody cascade nose with light caramel and breadcrust. Somewhat light, but with caramel and toast and a nice dose of cascade. Slightly watery, woody finish.

A very good IPA from Hop’s. Nice and crisp with a good finish. Good to see a good beer come from one of the first Grill and Brewerys. Sampled at the St. Pete Florida Craft Beer Fest.

Hops Big Skeeter Pale Ale pours to a beautiful, bright, deep golden to light amber color with a nice, bubbly white head that fades, and a moderate amount of carbonation. The nose on this beer is very aromatic with huge citric, zesty, and resiny waves of Chinook and Willamette hop character. The palate is firm, with lots of good biscuity pale malt flavors, paired with a touch of caramel sweetness, and juicy, estery, fruit flavors. Big Skeeter lives up to its name and finishes with a big blast of zesty, spicy, citric hop bitterness that stings the tongue, and lingers. This is a pertty hoppy beer. This is the type of beer that should be on tap at a great brewpub year round, but sadly, its only a seasonal at Hops. Can you believe that? A pale ale, a seasonal? At any rate, this beer is well done, and well worth trying if you find yourself at any Hops location. Finally a beer from Hops in which you can actually taste hops!

Draft at Manchester, CT locale. Piney-sweet aroma with some maltiness in the nose. Citrus hints are also present. Not bad aroma. Transparent copper-orange with an off-white head. Lots of grain and lots of cereal in this. Hops are extremely minimal. Very watery and very poor. Borderline offensive.
