Hazy dark nutty, with a sticky foamy light beige head. The aroma has huge notes of toast and bread crust. The flavor is crisp and full with a toasty malt undertone, a bit of cereal, and a clean biscuity finish. Semi-sweet throughout, but mostly dark and bready.

Pint on tap. Mahogany color, slight lacing, tiny head, translucent. Aroma has hints of caramel, not a hint of bitterness. Dark fruits, alcohols, and malts in the taste. A bit more hops than other altbiers, I like the medium carbonation and body.

Can from Whole Foods, pours dark red color, very very malty, smells of earth, high quality beer but must be in the mood for the style ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Craft and Growler in Dallas. Pour is clear town with a small tan head and decent lacing. Roasty, bready, somewhat grassy, earthy, cocoa, and malt aroma. Taste is roasty, bready, doughy, grassy, earthy, grainy, and husky with a light crisp bitter finish. Light body with high carbonation. OK.

Sweet and malty aroma. Chestnut brown. Taste is very hoppy...no sweetness like the aroma hints. Sour hoppy finish...a little sticky. Not too bad, but really not the best beer for a hot day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours deep amber with a quick-fading tan head. Lots of grain with a bit of fruit and caramel. Unusual without being gimicky.

Can. Poured a beautiful deep brown with a foamy tan top that lasted throughout. Dough, bread, grain, with a light hop finish. Medium carb, medium creamy body. Texas beers, FTW!
