Can from Whole Foods, pours dark red color, very very malty, smells of earth, high quality beer but must be in the mood for the style ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours clear brown color with medium tan head out of can. Aroma of caramel, nuts, cookies, and toffee. Flavor similar to taste. Very smooth beer! Excellent beer and you would be a fool not to buy it! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear brown color with off-white head. Caramel malt, roasted malt, and just a little toffee on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with a roasty character.

Not super crazy about this - but not because it is not a very well crafted beer. Hell, it goes down easy and with no complaints. I just tend to prefer more hops in general. Not a fault of the beer as I think it is hitting exactly what it set out to achieve. A solid almost very close to session beer.

Rated from notes taken on 9 Feb 2013 -- I find this to be a classic example, if not spectacular, version of an Alt. I would gladly purchase a 6-pack any day of the week.

On tap at brewery, poured a clear brown hue w/ thin fully diminishing head. Initial flavor is moderate sweet and a light bitter of short duration. Tastes are medium roast, malt, toast, and caramel. Medium bodied. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Double meh. Pours a dark brown with goodly light tan head. Scent is grain and tin. Flavor is overly bitter and could use touch more sweet balance. Light-Medium carbonation. Can - Trade for HeffIam

Brown body, I think it’s almost clear. Served with small creamy beige lace. Brown malts, cookie dough, biscuit, some cinnamon sweetness, aromatic hop mix to balance a bit. Just clean anough to match the style, but rich enough to be a bit more interesting than most Old World examples are. Juicy body with light toast and doughy malts, hidden alcohol. As expected from the aroma, the palate is nice quite as clean as the classic examples in the style, but does provide a more interesting rounded mouth feel. Nice brew, albeit light so it will never get high scores I think. I would order again though. (On tap at the Liberty Tavern Alt)
