3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not as excting as touted! Somewhat sour aftertaste but not bad with foods. No ’bite’ & not too much in the way of body.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Flight 9/1/03 (FLL)-Pours a clear red amber with a small head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and slight toffee. Taste of the same. This medium bodied brew was not bad but not good.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
About 4 oz. served into a tasting glass. From notes.
A: Pours a cola color with a thin khaki film. This is a red ale?
S: I note some toasted caramel and a touch of citrusy hops. It suffers from the same problem the others beers in the flight did, the aroma was dreadfully weak. What was here was acceptable, though.
T: Actually, this one seemed pretty roasty in its flavor. The roasted, toasted, burnt-to-a-crisp malts are followed up by touches of fruit esters and a very mild hop finish. Not bad.
M: It’s thin, easy to drink, and with a dry finish. It feels a bit insubstantial, though (it’s not a light lager, so it can’t get away with it)
O: A drinkable brew without flaws. Though it’s pretty bland regardless. I at least liked it enough to where I’d get it again on a future trip.

Draft. Ted. Almost headless. Aromaless. Flavorless. Why sell this? Who would drink it?

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice clear red, with off-white head. Sweet malt nose and taste. Caramel. Some herbal/grassy hops, but light. A light plum ester. Ok beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Reddish orange with a sandy head. Nose has caramel notes and a definitive malt sweetness. Dextrinous with a light citrusy quality. I actually really enjoyed this one. Medium body with a light bitterness.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Served on draft at the brewpub. Finally a beer with SOMETHING happening. Pours a clear dark red color with a medium sized offwhite head. Poor head retention. Extremely faint tart malt aroma. The taste is caramel malts, herbal hops and a bitter finish. Thin bodied.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap in Matthews nc, man these beers suck. Another disaster, how hard is it to make a good simple 5% amber? These are just greedy bastards.

1.6 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
On tap @ Hops Golden. Clear coppe orange appearance with an off white head. Dull skunky, light caramel nose. Caramel, amber malty, nutty, slightly bitter flavor.

0.6 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 1/20
On tap at the Alexandria, Virginia location.
Pours a moderate amber color with a thin light tan head. Fades quickly and leaves a thin collar around the edges. The nose is quite bad with a strong medicinal component alongside a strong odor of wet, stale cardboard. Going into the taste it’s more of the same with the addition of quite a lot of grain. Almost rancid. Body is light to medium with a very harsh finish. I could not finish this.
Serving type: on-tap

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Hops Grillhouse & Brewery, Alexandria. Poured a reddish amber color. Aroma had a malt body, touch of fruits. Flavor was a touch of dried fruits. Probably my second favorite of their regular beers.
