3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at Ft. Myers, FL. A medium sized white head with fine-small sized bubbles that were mostly lasting. The body was transparent and it had lively carbonation present with a yellow hue. The nose was malty fruity with a malty flavor. The mouthfeel was smooth and this was a light bodied beer with sparse lacing.

1.8 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
UPDATED: DEC 26, 2003 TheDM and Hotstuff vacation brew 124. This draft brew was sampled at the brewery resturant in Fort Myers Florida. This brew poured a large sized head of foamy finely sized white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent yellow orange colored body and a fair lace. The aroma was mildly malty and the mouthfeel was thick, somewhat chewey and contained a mild hop bite. The flavor was that of a simple malt hop mix and was unimpressive.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Surprisingly this is my favorite brew from Hops (thus far). Decent color, with a nice floral nose and pleasant sweet taste.

Well this may be a bit of an upgrade for all the BMC swillers out there. A golden lager with a little more body and a touch of that sweetness Hops seems to love. I think they should rename thier restaurant "Malts" because none of thier beers actually contain any hops. Overall this is a clean lager better than most swill but offering no complexity whatsoever.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
In Gainesville FLA: Clear straw hue with small head and no lacing. Faint nose of grassy hops, lemon, toasted malts and butterscotch. Taste starts crsip and citrusy, malty sweetness follows with a light acidic finish, Thin-bodied, watery and fizzy. Rather boring, needs aggressive hopping to improve taste.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
2002 Kennesaw, GA. Location - A very light bodied pilsner, that is not extremely watery like I thought it would be, some hops, some fruits, nicely balanced over all not a bad brew.

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Relative to the American Macro brews this is very good beer. Compared to other varieties it is average. Overall flavor and aroma were light but good, head was decent, some lacing. Better than the light.

Well, it is gold, but otherwise this doesn't have too many redeeming qualities. There is a fresh, raw graininess in the body with a light hop character. (Too bad they imported Saaz all the way to Florida just for this.) For a new world lager this is OK. (I overheard the bartender say that all their beers are ales, though. Hmmm....)
