Light to medium bodied pils with a noble hop bouquet and light fermentation issues.

Well, it is gold, but otherwise this doesn't have too many redeeming qualities. There is a fresh, raw graininess in the body with a light hop character. (Too bad they imported Saaz all the way to Florida just for this.) For a new world lager this is OK. (I overheard the bartender say that all their beers are ales, though. Hmmm....)

2.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pale yellow. Light aroma. Dry, citrus fruits flavor, hop, grass, stronger body than the Light (but the palate reveals a just too long infusion).

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
I know I'm in the minority, but I enjoyed this beer. It was a nice smooth, easy drinking beer. Just enough hops to make it interesting.

1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Not much more color than their light beer. Decent aroma, suggesting fruitiness (grape, raspberry). First flavors are decent, but it descends into a slightly more murky set of flavors, artificial and unattractive. Feels like "big" bubbles of carbonation in your mouth. (at Eden Prairie, MN location)

1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Rather light in body, not a whole lot in way of aroma, maybe a little floral action going on in the nose but not much, decently balanced, a bit of a spicy finish to the beer, nothing all that great about this brew though

it’s alright, but dark beers are better.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20
Ooof! No head. Goes down relatively well, but so does water. Semi-rotgut effect to my stomach. Too carbonated. Boring, uneventful, generic. Describing this beer is a waste of time. Sampled from Richmond, VA Hops near Chesterfield Towne Center.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Maple Grove, MN: Light malt nose. Creamy, white head with good lace. Head is mostly diminishing. Clear, yellow body; no sparkle. Light sweetness in the initial mouthfeel; long duration. Light to medium bodied. Unlike JPDIPSO, felt this brew was softly carbonated. Not a bad American Standard; would drink it before most of the macros. NOTE: Was treated to bartender, Aaron Lepinski’s, signature concoction, ’An Aaron Beer’, which is a mixture of the Lighting Bold Gold, Alligator Ale and Thoroughbred Red. It was outstanding! Ask for it by name at your local Hops. BTW, the service at Hops has been excellent the two times I have visited (Maple Grove & Eden Prairie, MN).
